It looks like our pioneer elite 64 inch tv is on the blink. Any good recommendations on a new tv, maybe 70 inch out there. Is plasma better than lcd. Pats golf is on the line, so any help would be blessed. Hay Chwee, what do you think.

Just a hint. I work in the service part of our store. I handle the warranty. It seems to me as if we do an awful lot of Samsung warranty service. They are very customer friendly & dealer friendly. Easy for me to work with. But we do, do alot of Samsung repair.
LG is a good set. We sell alot of LG. And the amount of warranty I submit to LG is quiet a bit smaller than Samsung. We have LG in our home. They are a dealer friendly company for me to submit warranty also.
I would strongly recomend that you go to and independent dealer like what we are. We do alot of repairs for the "big box" stores. And I have heard plenty of "big box" nightmares from consumers. The big box stores are not set up for quality service for consumers.

I have no clue about LCD or plasma for BIG screen. Only LCD we have is a Dell 1080P w/HDMI 22" LCD in the study for computer and HDTV use.
We watch all our TV, movies and video games on the projector; even in daylight. I've seen the 60"++ LCDs/Plasma @ Costco and personally don't like the space they take up.
that said, projectors are not for everyone. either u hate it or you can't live without it (we got used to having a 100" display). There's the pain of cabling it (we had all the HD cables installed before they dry-walled the place)....but there's wireless HDMI that's quickly dropping in price.
if you ever want to try out a projector, start cheap (posted in deal of the day):

after a while, you can go to: http://www.avsforum.com/
and then get addicted to the latest 1080p Sony projectors that cost more than a Prowler :eek2:
bottom line, regardless of which ever display you get, you MUST tune the setup. you can spend $$$$ and get a crappy display without good calibration.

I have been looking also. the best one I could find was a Samsung 56'' 1080 HL56A650 Plasma for 1449.00 at Best Buy. this seems to be a good deal, but I just started looking. My old 52'' projection is still working fine, but old as the hills. I'm going to wait until the after Thaksgiving sales. I think this year might bring some good sales.

.
Agree we had a projector for a while and once you have it, it's kind of hard to go back, however always have a spare bulb in hand. Nothing more frustrating that sitting down to watch a movie or a football game and have the light flicker out.
After moving we ended up with a 50" that does the trick.
