Just got a phone call from my mom. My brother just got in an accident with his Harley. Sitting at a stop light, he was rear ended. He's fine, had his leathers on and his helmet. So he just has a broken ankle.

Just one more person close to us with a motorcycle accident. And one more reason to have a Prowler verses a bike. :tu::tu:

I agree. My son totaled his crotch rocket about 3 years ago, and luckily he survived, but fractured his pelvis. He has not even thought about crawling back on bike after that incident.:nono::nono:

glad he is ok, but how safe is the prowler.

Safe enough for me to walk from this with no seat belt, and top down.
This is what happened to my first one.

I hated that happened to that car... My Grandfather bought that car for me as a Christmas present on Christmas Eve 2001. Then this happened in August of 2002. I had already put 13,000 miles on the car by then, but I wish it was still here.

Glad to hear that your brother was not seriously hurt! Sometimes it is the people driving the ones with the 4 wheels that do not pay attention to the motorcycles. ...But I have a young man that drives a motorcycle by my house all the time like he is going to put out a fire. :nono:

Glad to hear your brother is okay. One of my brothers had a motorcycle accident when he was younger and was throw in the air when hit by a drunk driver but luckily didn't break a bone.

Sue, I'm glad to hear that your brother is okay. That must have been pretty scary !
And after what happened to Terry... good thing your brother was wearing a helmet !

Glad to hear your brother will be alright.

I ride a lot of miles on my Harley. I have the mindset that I am invisible to most everyone and you must keep your eyes on your mirrors and everything around you at all times. Had 3 times today that could have been bad if I wasn't being diligent.

I tried to do without a bike and thought I got them out of my system, I was wrong!

Glad to hear that your brother is going to be alright.

Got a bike that I don't ride much at all, you definitely have to ride defensively at all times.

Same reason I've never bought one... if you are involved in an incident, the damages to your body can be much worse on a bike.

Dusti... best I recall, Ron got into a 3-way on the freeway and he was stuck in the middle of it all...

but then again... I'm old and forget sh*t...so.... ;)

I got the motorcycle bug and bought a cool cruiser with orange flames, nice sounding pipes, etc. Great bike, but when I put the wife on the back and we went riding, the vulnerable feeling was all consuming. I couldn't get over puting us (especially her) in harms way. So, I sold the bike, and later ended up with the car I had always dreamed about.

Now, we have airbags and seatbelts and a metal frame around us for more protection. Oh, and it's PURPLE .

i have been wanting a gold wing trike for years now, but have been having my doubts about the safety.. I am afraid that if i get one, i will have the very same feelings you described. perhaps i should get another prowler instead....

by the way. thank you everyone for your prayers for Terry.

Spoke with him last night. He is living with his daughter right now. Going to physical and speach therapy on an "out patient" basis. Is having a bit of trouble with vertigo. But otherwise is doing just great. He is one very lucky man.
