That ruling only applies in the Nationwide races... the Sprint cup series is still the same.
Bubble burst... next question ?

I thought the whole idea was to find more hp. When you do you get penalized for it? I don't know the rules, but seems like someone has been bitching that can't compete.

Hendricks cry babies is what this seems to be about...:cry2::cry2::cry2:
"Dyno tests after the June 21 race at The Milwaukee Mile revealed a significant horsepower advantage for Toyota over Ford and Chevrolet. Toyota's peak horsepower number was 632, compared with 611 for Ford, 612 for Chevrolet and 628 for Dodge.
After the July 11 race at Chicagoland Speedway, NASCAR took 10 engines -- three Toyotas, three Chevys, two Fords and two Dodges -- to its Research & Development Center in Concord, N.C., for further evaluation. The engine from David Reutiman (http://www.nascar.com/drivers/dps/dreutima00/cup/index.html)n's No. 99 Toyota was the top performer, but top-to-bottom, the test produced a much narrower range than the numbers from the Milwaukee test.
Persistent lobbying by drivers of other car makes, particularly Chevrolet, helped draw attention to Toyota's horsepower advantage. Bowyer was one of the more vocal protesters, saying at one point that "a monkey could drive that 20 car and win."
That wasn't lost on Dave Rogers, crew chief for the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.
"It was obvious there was a campaign," Rogers said Saturday at Gateway International Raceway, where his Toyota ran second to Carl Edwards (http://www.nascar.com/drivers/dps/cedwards00/cup/index.html)' Ford. "You had every team of a certain manufacturer [Chevrolet] singing the same song. If you've never seen a campaign before, there one is."

:burnoutIt doesn't take all that testing to tell that them TOYOTERS were faster or had more HP. Watch any race and you can tell that. No cryin......I say let everybody get as much HP as they can, like CRUISIN said. Let the fastest win. They should give them all the same displacement and let the mechanics do the rest. Then no bitchin or cryin.:burnout

The cry babies still can't win..... maybe they will make Wild Thing run a chevy motor to make things "fair".....
CLERMONT, Ind. -- Kyle Busch (http://www.nascar.com/drivers/dps/kbusch01/cup/index.html) was frustrated by NASCAR's latest rule change. He took it out on the competition.
Busch led all but three laps Saturday night to win the Kroger 200 for Toyota's 15th victory in 22 Nationwide races this season. It was the first event since NASCAR's mandate Wednesday to cut down the horsepower in Series engines knocked 15 horsepower out of Toyota's engines. NASCAR changed the parameters after rival teams complained, even though Toyota was within the rules.

They do this crap in other forms of racing too. A number of seasons ago in AMA road racing Honda was getting its ass kicked by Ducati (Ducati didn't break any of the rules but ended up having to add weight to the bikes, Honda still got it handed to them). Two seasons ago Aprilia came out with a v twin motocross bike that produced double the hp of what the other manufacturers were making with the same displacement. All the manufacturers lobbied and got the rules changed to only allow single cylinder bikes. Aprilia broke no rules when producing their bike.
The ones thinking outside the box end up getting screwed.

There it is,,,,,,the true facts!!!
if ya can't compete with the big dogs,,,,,stay in the grandstands!
Gibbs and Rousch have the most horsepower,,,,because they have the best engines! The way GM is losing money each month,,,,they'll be lucky to stay in auto racing much longer.
You Chevy apologists keep talking 'smack',,,,,,,ya haven't much else to chat about :rll::rll:

When will NASCAR move into the 21st century? Lug nuts, gas cans, hand jacks, carburators, etc. They speak of high crew costs? One Wheel nut, gravity fed fuel hoses, fuel injection, and air jacks are long overdue in this series,,,,,35 years behind technology!
