...I lived in China for about 18 months....got turned on to Pink Floyd, Sabbath etc, the McCoys(Derringer) and "Hang On Sloopy" were way back in my past by this time....but he reemerged in the early seventies.....
...Edgar Winters "Frankenstein" was a big hit in the spring of 1973....I remember traveling to San Antonio and stopping to visit a friend of mine in Little Rock....he was an avid fan of Edgar Winter....we visited, partied, blasted "Frankenstein" for hours....I never hear that song that I don't immediately flash back to that afternoon with my buddy, last time I ever spoke to him....he was killed on his motor cycle a few weeks later...he survived numerous trips "in country" and got his ticket punched by an old lady in a VW...

my memories of "frankenstein" harkin back to when i bought one of my first "real" (lol) stereo purchase: a set of large (15inch woofer) speakers from "Playback", the 70's equivilent to Best Buy. I was so proud of those speakers, that i kept playing frankenstein over and over to demonstrate just how good they sounded. Its funny how certain songs immediately take you back to a particular point in time. Man, are we getting old or what. Perhaps A/C can tell us what its like to already be old as Larry and I are simply nearing that era.....
