I didn't do anything with the rear brakes....I guess Gary E will drill them, pumpkin has had his rear rotors done...

The car in the ebay as look familiar...... I thought it was cheaper for the rotors. How much would stock rotors be at Pep Boys or Kragen auto parts?
What did you do for the back end? Doesn't the company on ebay do rear ones? If I do this mod, I want the front and rears to match.
How much would installation cost around? Do you notice any differences in braking? Better or worse?

Rich at Rotorpros says he hopes to offer rear units in the near future...
I removed the calipers and painted them silver....
after the wheel is removed... there are only 3 bolts holding on the calipers once you have taken them off, the rotors just slip off, put on the new rotors replace the calipers and tighten the two bolts .. then put the wheel back on.......done....
it takes about 20 minutes per side if you don't paint..
the $120 they are asking are for the pair...
well worth the $$ in my opinion
I don't notice any diff in the braking, maybe a little better, hard to say .. the Kat was in storage since Nov 2005...
gotta love the look !

Hey Halicat, I finally had time this weekend to follow in your, Dustis, and Norm's, footsteps. I took everything apart, painted my front and rear calipers with the Silver caliper kit, installed the RotorPro front rotors, and a Larry Lord Wonder Bar. Here's a few pictures of the final product.
Oh, and in the third picture, the stainless steel brake lines were provided by Piddler. I'm really happy with these high quality hoses.
By the way, the Wonder Bar is great. My car doesn't bounce as harshly along the incredibly poor California freeways as it used to thanks to this mod. Now, I'm anxious to ditch the run flats and put "real" tires on the car!
Here's some pics:

Scott here is something else you could do. Cover the nuts and bolts on the knuckle. Used freeze plugs and chrome caps.

Hmmm, maybe I need a wonder bar. I can tell you that changing out to regular tires (even though much larger 18" and 22") make a very noticible difference - my car rides a lot softer with the new tires.

I put Kuhmo's on the back and really noticed the difference... next week the runflats come off the front and kuhmos go on....

Wow, Norm, that looks great! Damn, just when I think I have something finished I always learn there's still more to do! Very nice. I'm going to have my front end chromed next, but not until the beginning of next year. So, adding the freeze plugs and caps is a small expense to hold me over. Thanks for the tip, Norm!
And Hali, what the hell . . just when I think I'm starting to catch up with you, you go off and do something radical. The new paint job sounds killer. Can't wait to see the results! Hey, maybe you can do a "before and after" picture for the calendar!
DC, I really didn't cut myself up much, but I now have silver fingers that will withstand 900 degrees of heat! Man, that epoxy paint is PERMANENT! I look like some freakish version of the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. I suggest gloves to anyone contemplating the caliper paint mod.
Orange, I can't tell you yet how much the wonder bar would help you until I get normal tires. But, I gotta think it'll help. It's pretty easy to install, too! Just eight bolts to take out to replace it. Two of them require some patience as they are under the car and take forever to get out. . . limited space to turn the nut with a wrench and the stupid bolts have two inches of thread exposed. But, overall, the result is well worth the frustration.
DavidN: Thank you for the kind words, and for keeping this site up. I really appreciate having a free speech zone!

I highly recommend the Wonder Bar. It was well worth the money. The kat tracks through corners that it once would chatter and push through.
My next improvement will be removing the run-flats! I think I'll also be going with the Kumho 712's.
Looks awesome Scott...........yep, gotta love those spinners !
I STILL have not managed to install the wonder-bra, guess I gotta
do that soon, been sitting in the garage for over a year and a half now
