Three shipped. 8 in progress... I will update this thread as appropriate. The shipped count only counts the final grilles with the final fit and finish, although some R&D grilles had gone out, only the finals are counted here.


I am happy to say that my final fixtures and tooling produce a very consistent fit. The youtube video that I posted had a grille not quite to final polish which was mearly dropped into place and not affixed so I am certain that people will find the fit to their liking.

I am not certain what the holiday weekend will do to my delivery dates, but I would expect to hear very soon from the top ten about their install experience.

The final price for new orders will be 1350, 700 of which is the downpayment to confirm the order. As I need to re-coupe some of my tooling costs while I await final payments from current orders I will offer three more orders at the 1000 price if the order is paid in advance.

If you are not comfortable waiting for your grille to be built, I will be building several to keep as shelf stock once the orders are all shipped. I will also be taking a week or so off when the orders are shipped so that I can allow my hand and arms some healing time that they require.
For the several who have asked how I broke my hand.. I was bending a piece of 1/4inch steel for my more recent tooling when the hammer that I was using had the sleeve on the handle slip and the hammer smashed my hand. I am still able to do most things with some soreness but I am told that it will not heal until I leave it alone for a while, which I obviously cannot do right now.

The shipments were held up because of the holiday week causing me grief, but I have been pushing on the grilles creating a stock that are ready to send. I actually have frames cut for nearly all of the orders, and enough plate stainless to finish these orders plus a few more. At the rate they are moving along I fully expect to have all of the orders shipped fairly quickly. Of the four orders that I offered at the reduced price, I still have two slots open. Anyone that would like those two slots is welcome to call, pm, or email.

And for those that asked, here is one of my hand when I redecorated it... it is much better now, although I am told it will not stop giving me trouble until I take some down time and rest it, which I will be doing after all of my orders are shipped and delivered.

I had funds due in to me last week which still have not shown up, I talked with the issuing bank today and was promised tomorrow. I have not been particularly shy with the fact that I have spent myself down with this project. The materials deposits were spent on materials as promised, and the final payments help me ship. Since there are several people that want to try the grille before they send payment I am in a position to wait for funds to come in before shipping. I have quite a few that can go out this week. I am working on getting them out.

There are a group of people who have pre-paid their final payments and in doing so helped me to accomplish my success in this project (two shown above) who trusted me to hit my goals, to them I want to offer the most sincere thank you. You have helped to keep the project always moving forward (even when slowly :frown:)

I can't tell you the frustration of getting 98% done with a grille time and time again and having something go wrong, something destroy it, some reason it was not able to ship.. have to start at scratch on the tooling because there was a compensation made that caused another to be needed... to the people who have given me their trust and their support, you are appreciated more than you know, and each time you see one of these grilles you can feel proud that you had a big part in making it happen.

I feel very lucky to be able to do what I love for my work, I am indeed lucky to be a small company and have been able to survive and fund a huge R&D project, which I was supposed to get all of the tools and patterns for well before it was begun...

Ok , this time it's my fault. Grace missed her shipping pickup last night after coming home for a break, mostly due to the fact that she dropped a 4 inch angle grinder , witch, while falling caught her stomach and made it, well, pulpy, and bloody, she has'nt slept in three days, she's upset with me for letting her fall asleep, deal with it, this project wont get done any faster if looses another hand, ( the last one has been broken for several months) she is on her way to the shop now to see when the next shipping pick up can be arranged. please direct any hate mail messages, pm's to me.she's driving her self into the ground to get teese things out, I know patiance is wearing thin, please hang on, evry day without sleep is a day closer to the goal, but also closer to potencial accidents, from being over tired, thanks for all the support.

I will not be making any trips this year, between having my car down at graces shop,the passing of my mother and my dads upcoming open heart surgery and my own wacky work schedule, I've very little time to play, but maybe next year I'll be around more really have big mod plans for the prowler and then new paint. Sorry about missing this before. If you are willing to pay the balance it will help me move along faster, it will certainly help with shipping charges.

Right now I am pushing as hard as possible.. I can honestly say that I don't think that anyone could work more without it killing them... Marvin is coming to help me again this evening.. apparently he is worried that I could work more hours.. :-P Seriously he's a devoted workaholic like me.. and he's helping so much, especially with the things that I have a hard time doing with my hand.. I have twelve grilles in process, several are nearly finished. Bear with me, we are nearly there.. :biggrin:
