All of the people that have been saying that I cannot get a good fit, cannot build the grilles, cannot ever get this right.... Will now have to find someone else to talk about. :nono:  :bash:
After what has to have been the worst R&D process of my life, the fit is now coming out perfect from the new fixtures.. tested, retested.. many batches of grilles lost... and I finally have it.
I cannot tell you all that this process has cost me, all that I have endured to get this right. It is true that I have been working with a broken hand for these last many weeks, and for those that are asking where I moved my shop.. I moved my house, not my shop.. my lease doesn't expire for three more years, and I am quite happy here.

I'm also one of those watchers on this.. for those that have committed and been waiting, your return here is getting the product at a price that I doubt will be available in the future. Based on the work effort spent on this, I would have to guess future grills will cost more.

Grace, Nice job for sure given the circumstances. Now the larger question, what can you do groups of 5 (or 10 if that is the number for you to get a respectable return)? How long to do these 5 or 10 now including to the door? I now have one leg off of the fence but would like to see a 50% down and 50% with a verified shipping number (product has left the building verified by fedex or ups). I think a round this way done successfully would then be followed by a 100% pay it with an # day turn around as your process would then have a a faster to car success number to hopefully add another notch in that success column. Just a thought. I do networks and construction so totally different business model my 2 cents is really worth a penny, if that.

Thank you!! I appreciate all of the support, it has been an amazing and difficult process, but I am very happy with how they have come out. I will be anxious to hear from people how their install time is.. I imagine it will be pretty fast.
The final grille will be 1350. The down payment for materials is 700. I will accept four additional orders at 1000 if paid in full at time of order so that I can recoupe some of my tooling costs and add to the shipping account. Delivery is looking like three to four weeks for any orders placed now, best guess.
Fit and finish is guaranteed as represented and if there is any issue it will be fixed free of charge, shipping and applicable taxes included. 30 day satisfaction guarantee, lifetime replacement and repair guarantee for manufacturers defect, lifetime guarantee for damage for time and materials cost.
If anyone would like to order but would like to buy shelf stock, I will be making and holding at least 3 grilles as shelf stock at all times after the completion of the current orders.
The final price is based on amortization of tooling costs, materials costs, shipping fees, taxes, and labor time in making the grilles and is still only $55 dollars more than M&L charged a decade ago when they were made with less expensive materials and substantially less labor. (per the changes)
There will be at least a half of a dozen grilles shipping out this week, likely more. Now that I have the tooling in place to get consistent fit it will allow me to finish the batch that I have in progress much more quickly.
In the meanwhile, thank you again for all of the support and kindness.. I cannot tell you what it has meant to me to have people solidly in my corner.:tu:

All good things are worth waiting for.....
Two thumbs up for you for putting the huge effort in to this project and persevering through all the hardships to get this done. When I took on the pistol grip project , I figured that I would be able to get them made and shipped in 3 weeks...
ha !
The unforseen can be a monster.... thanks for hanging in there for us...:tu::tu:

I was in Seattle on business today and stopped by Grace's shop. I saw a finished grille that was ready to be shipped. It is a really great product with a lot of attention to detail. I saw it fitted to a Prowler that was in the shop and the fit looked good. I also saw a number of grilles in various stages of final production so it shouldn't be too much longer for those that were in the first buy. Good things come to those that have the patience to wait for a quality product to be developed.

I have talked and e-mailed Grace many times and she has always been very responsive. I certainly don't have her persistence or perseverance. My hats off to her! I just can't hardly wait to get mine. :tu::tu::tu::tu:
