Jim: The Viper is always tempting, but not ideal for LA-traffic and crappy roads. Used Vipers are pretty low-priced in LA.

My first choice is the Cayman, but the dealers are marking it up. So will hold out. The Boxsters are going for cheap now and SkanKat wants a stick shift (I can see BlackCat coming up with a comment here). However, Boxsters are a dime a dozen in LA, and if i get a non-S, I will end up spending too much $$ on mods (e.g., Supercharger). There's also too many 911s in Pasadena.

The Vette is tempting too, but its not a top choice. No sedans either. Only other option - SUV.

So, to wait for a Cayman to stabilize in price, it'll be a year or two. In the mean time, am just looking for a possible transition ride which holds its re-sale value well...

I used to have an M2 miata prior to the kat.... Miss that car more than anything... best handling car EVER! Just the funnest car to drive.

Sometimes I think about buying another miata....... I drive benzes, lexuses, corvettes, etc... but none have been as trouble free as the miata, and I drove the crap out of it.

A used Maserati spider can be had in the mid-$40's. The drivetrain comes straight out of the Ferrari 400. Nice car and you don't see a ton of them on the road.

Scott: U're right..don't see alot of them around even in car-crazy LA. That reminds me of Eva Longoria driving it in that TV show..hahaa..
