We are using the trailer for the 1st time since we drove the car home. Anything we need to know ? balance out the weight in the trailer that kind of shit !!

The trailer will bounce a lot if there is no weight in it. I also keep the tire pressure low in the trailer unless I am loading it up for a trip. It is hard to see and not the easiest thing to back.

In California car with trailer can only be driven on the slow lane with lower speed limit. Check and secure the hinges and lock. DC knows about these.

I run 25 lbs air pressure in the trailer tires, seems to be a good balance for bounce and control plus gas mileage.

I have towed mine all over the midwest with 22 lbs in the tires and about 250 to 300 lbs of shi, oops, luggage, car care products, towels, tools etc. Watch the tongue weight, usually 15 to 20% of total weight is a good rule. The first few trips I actually used a scale under the hitch stand, with the top lowered, and run from 57 to 72 lbs down force. Also good idea to get a can of fix a flat and carry with you. have a blast.

The latch system on the trailer is not the best. I have the "Larry Lord" repair kit on mine. They (the original latch) have a tendency to break.

No Jim, this is not the hitch, the problem is with the deck lid latch.

Just a suggestion...I would use a good quality tire plug and 12V compressor for my repairs.

I know for a fact the tire shops just hate dealing with that Fix-A-Flat goo when they have to remount your tire.

Thats why I run RunFlats and 17" Prowler Wheels on my Trailer, you never have to worry about a Flat..;-)

Rick, read it again. This is about pulling the Prowler trailer behind the kat, not trailering the kat....

That is a great idea! Did you keep the tire pressure sensors and run them to an output somewhere?

No Louis, I could never carry enough weight in the Trailer for it to make a difference if the tires are inflated or not..;-). The Sidewalls are so hard it doesnt matter. I just check the pressures after a day of towing.
