Well we finally escaped NC and got a chance to traverse Georgia, dodging trees, branches, hail and 50 to 60 mph winds from the west. Had a great time in Atlanta, and the Speedway flat out in third gear was exilerating, and good to see all the attendees.
Continuesd on to NC, pulling the orange trailer behind HiYo Silver got many looks. Loved driving the mountains over to Bryson City and Deals Gap, then the Blue Mountain Parkway, all without the trailer this time. Got to hang the back end out at speed. Spent the week in Ashville at Homewood Suites, great accomadations and hospitality. Went through Biltmore, largest home ever built in America. George Vanderbuilt had it built over 6 years, 175,000 sq. ft., 43 bathrooms, 30 some bedrooms, 4 floors and a basement with pool and bowling alley. Built from 1895 through 1901.
Most memorable with the family all together. Funniest description of the Prowler by a 9 year old NC youngster, "That your pointy car?" That was a first, but earned him a model Prowler.
Great to be home after 1,700 miles of smiles in the Cat. Totally flawless operation, of course.

We toured the Vanderbilt house 2 years ago - beautiful and incredible grounds and house. Still have a bottle of their Estate wine sitting around here that needs to be opened.

Sounds like a really fun trip. Driving around the Atlanta Speeway at 85 mph was awesome. With gears we ran the most of the time in top gear. The Biltmore is awesome as well. Hope to go up and run the Dragon sometime this year.

We topped 110 in third a couple times and the straight pipes were beautiful!!!! Brought home 3 bottles of their wine, one will bite the dust tonight. Sure is a blast to travel in the Cat!

Agree the Biltmore is awesome as long as you visit when it's cool outside but remember when we were all there in August of '03? Hot as hell and only a couple of fans. The wine was fine.

I like that...."pointy car.""

I get a kick out of watching kids at cruise nights looking at our cars.
