Mannnn, when it rains...
She just called me asking for insurance info…said the car is undriveable & won’t even start! She just left a car wash…so it was clean…heading back to base on a secondary road and Some dude in a RAM 150 wasn’t paying attention…cross the line & got her! Damn! Evil Elf says We don’t have rental car on our policy so that will suck for her for however long it takes to get Her car repaired. She couldn’t talk long…cops just got there & she needed State Farm info, Policy number, agent name/number, etc. At least she is NOT severely hurt. Says she “may” “feel” it more tomorrow. I’l letcha know more info if n when I hear it. Damn! Hate hearing that! On the good side, she was driving her P.T. Cruiser--not the Prowler--parked in my driveway here in Montgomery, AL.
UPDATE: She’s going to check with the other guy’s insurance to see if they will pay for a rental…but she’s too bizzy for me to get any mo info from now—she will call me when she can & give me details…hopefully the fucker is insured, etc. I couldn’t ask was he drunk, or whatever, etc. I wanna know mo info too. Hate her li putt-putt bein’ damaged – she took great care of it & it ran like a top! I’m sure all will be OK eventually…just upsetting initially…before all the facts are known. :(

PS: Thaks everyone for your well-wishes...not the end of the world, but unsettling at time of first phone call. She says he has insurance--that's a plus! Yes, all will be well in the end. SH!T HAPPENS! I'm thankful she can walk away just shaken n stirred but not broken!

Glad she's OK. Try and get his insurance company to pay for the rental car. That's how it works here. Your company shouldn't have to pay anything if it's determined that it's his fault.......

Ty-K, Blackcat is right. If it is the other guy's fault she is entitled to rental transportation for as long as it takes to settle the claim. It's called "Loss Of Use". Also, tell her to watch out for the rental car co. trying to sell her the useless "Collision Damage Waiver".. Good luck, Buddy.

Thanks for everyone's concern! Just spoke w/Elf this morning...and one toe has turned blue + just a few other lil minor aches--she will see a Dr today...just to get a clean bill of health! Gotta wait until businesses & insurance agencies open today before gathering any more info--useful or otherwise. She did leave msg on State Farm Agent's answering machine, so ze ball is in his court to contact her and/or the other person't insurance company today! Mo' when n if it develops! Thanks again Y'ALL. Ty-K
UPDATE: Evil Elf is in-contact w/our State Farm Ins Agent & has faxed him a copy of the accident report...so ze wheels are in-motion! Still dunno about rental car situation, but what w/elf bein' in charge of transportation at the military unit where she's assigned...that may be a perk regardless!

 THAT LYIN' PLICK!!
Unbelieveable now that the offender told his insurance company that Vera was speeding & that caused the accident! Funny that didn't come up at the scene--Saturday mornin'~bastard is just trying to save face with his own insurance co. & not get cancelled for CAUSING a head-on accident! Yeah! Sh!t Happens...all well be OK...but things like this just piss me off bigtime.

Hey Ken.....what a bastard,for sure.
My wife had a similar experience about a year ago where a guy rear ended her car(clearly his fault)....wanted to pay for the damage out of his pocket so the premiums don't go up.....finally got a call from his insurance company where he changed the story around and started some BS about her making improper turn and all.Of course he ended up paying the bill.....just gets frustrating in the meantime!

Thanks Roman,
Seems a lotta things like this happening in my life lately...long story about child-support where I clearly paid over $3,500 TWICE but the -ex refuses to return it. Yeah! It's only money! But...she'll get her due one day! That's what I think! I've always done the right thing AND both the -ex AND my daughter know it! They'll get stomach problems in their old age, I firmly believe...or perhaps their hearts will burst! Here I go ranting! I'll just shut-up & stop venting now! I feel better. Thanks for understanding the experience--Roman!! :vomit:

Finally, some good news! Wife called me awhile ago to say she was able, at long last, to get a copy of the accident report! She was NOT judged to be at-fault AND she's getting a rental car tomorrow...courtesy of the offender--so--all's well that end's well. Vera said she thought the guy works for UPS so I can see why he tried to weasel outta bein' at blame now! Bye-Bye UPS, eh! But...lying was NOT the way to do it! Anyway! Just sharing the GOOD NEWS...it took a week to get the report/thus the rental car...as it happened last Saturday! Again, thx to all ze well-wishers! :D
