job interview....sadly, a true story

[Tangled up in 'Vitamin C']

...about 25 years ago, I was in another business in which we had delivery trucks on the road, and we always needed drivers......our warehouse was a pretty good size building in an industrial park near the edge of town....

...one afternoon my secretary called me to the front office and there stood a guy, blind drunk, with a big crooked cowboy hat on and a pair of sunglasses missing a lens and they were terribly crooked too....he wanted a job driving a truck...I stepped out into the cubicle he was in (ABOUT 4 FOOT SQUARE) and he told me how he could drive anything, find any town, find any business, he was a "pro from Dover"....after about 2 minutes of his drunken blathering, I thanked him and said I would call him if we needed anyone....he proceeded to turn, spin and fall against the wall.....on his way towards the floor his broken sunglasses hit the ground and his big cowboy hat fell over his face and he then shouted "HOW THE F*CK DO YOU GET OUTTA HERE"

...I never did call him for a job

about a year ago i had a young girl come in to apply for a receptionist job. noticing some gaps in her many jobs (too many for someone so young), i ask her about them. she said that she had been "discharged" from her last two jobs merely because her drawers (she had been in retail) had "come up short". she said it was just a fluke that it happened to her twice in four months. i wonder what prison she is in these days..

It was funny last night walking down this one street and there were these 3 guys where the all white, and following behind dressed in the all black were 10 women. Hey - just 3 Kuwaiti's taking their wifes out for dinner.
