View Full Version : Modifying Your Prowler
HI GUY"S..
WHEN YOU DO PERMANENT MODIFICATION ON THE PROWLER DOES THAT CHANGES THE ORIGINAL VALUE OF THE CAR.:?: I DO NOT MEAN CHROME OR REMOVABLE ACCESSORIES. MY EXAMPLE IS PUTTING PERMANENT AIR VENTS ON THE SIDE PANELS AND ADDING FLAMES TO THE PAINT. SINCE THE CAR WILL NOT BE ORIGINAL NO MORE WILL THAT LOWER THE VALUE AS IF IT WOULD BE ORIGINAL. :?:

I think ADDING FLAMES TO THE PAINT is a personal thing ,which the other person might like or dislike. If they don't like it they would have to repaint the car and cost the new owner more money to put it back to original. JMO
but it's your car now , enjoy it the way you like it

If you plan on keeping the Kat , modify away , make it the way you like , But as noted that it might be hard to sell to someone else

I bought my Kat with the full intention of leaving it stock to maintain the resale value...
2 weeks later I decided this car would be mine forever....

My opinion is yes, permanemt mods will lower the value of the cars in the long term. There will always be low mileage stock Prowlers available for the foreseeable future that anyone who is thinking about holding onto one as a "collectable".
In the short term - your mods may or may not appeal to a potential buyer - just depends on the individual. If/when I'm back in the market for another one, I'll look for one that has some of the mods I like best but would be choosy about custom paint unless i "really" liked it because I have my own ideas of what mine should look like.

while my car has nowhere near the mods of halicat's (yet), i too originally bought the car with every intention of keeping it stock for potential long term resale. my 2 cents says, enjoy the car and if mods make you enjoy it more, then the more the better..... or should i say mo-better!

There's only one way around this Problem, you have to have 2. One to mod up, the other bone stock..

Mod Away. It would lower the price somewhat, but who cares? It's better that you enjoy rather than the next owner. Plus, you couldn't ruin a prowler worse than halicat or in-xtc...

IN-XTC,
Could they wrap the whole car? RUF (porsche upgrader) wrappedone of their black cars in a classic porsche green..... it looked too good to be true (saw it in a magazine). How much do you think it would cost to wrap a whole prowler? Would it look decent?

Isn't there a wrapped prowler already? I think its got yellow, and then on the hood it looks like you can see inside the engine, and shows an artistic version of pistons and things. Looked pretty cool (just not my taste)

I Have To Believe Mine Is Worth More Than I Paid For It.
I think there was a prowler wrapped with a bush-cheney 2004 theme :vomit:
Wrapping isnt that bad. The material used is great for cars and stretches easy in order to cover the harder spots.

Hey Randy,
Just remembered, your friend won't be able to import a Prowler into KWI. They have that new rule where cars can only be max of 3 yrs old to be imported...but of course if he's well connected....
