This week the Boys of Thunder are racing at Fontana in California, that is if it will ever stop raining....

Qualifying and practice have been both canceled due to rain and the forcast for today is for showers....

the track is a 2 mile long D oval with fairly low banking compared to Daytona.... 14 degrees in the turns..

I still have the Prowltalk calendar up for a prize and will award it to the member that gets the higest number of points....

To determine the winner we will give each finishing place a point value...

first place.... 43 points
second place 42
third............41

and so on down the line so as that 43 place will get 1 point

pick 3 drivers that you believe will finish 1,2,3

you cannot pick the same 3 drivers as someone else has picked, but you can pick 2..

So guys lets have your picks and cross our fingers that the race is a go....

Get your raincoats on and pissbags packed and ready for throwing.... lets go racing !

OK, Back from Daytona, and what a trip. I highly reccomend Daytona Speedweek for anyone who really wants to expierience what Nascar can offer. Something for everybody. This trip was great weather, a little golf, and alot of beer and alot of laps! Now, back to reality.

CLEARING comes late into the day,,,,maybe possible to get in the race. Monday weather looks good,,but fans in stands will be few if that happens.

Jimbo > I just checked the weather radar maps near Anaheim area,,,,,,another big rain cell heading east towards Fontana. I have my doubts if they get one more big down pour tonight,,,that this race would make even half the laps needed to call it a race. I could be wrong,,,,but I'll bet this race is going to monday if the sky opens up one more time today? and,,,that is what the radar map shows

Tom S. > I was sitting on the fence for my picks for today. Was going to go with C. Mears #5,,,,,,Jethro Earnhart #88,,,,,,, and S. Hornish #77 as my picks :eek2::evil:

"should not be racing on this track "

:evil:I disagree. Let 'em green flag race with the weepers,,,,,,let the drivers decide the speeds to run until the wetness dissipates[sp]

Those driving too fast, will spin and crash out,,,,,those driving somewhat slower will remain moving forward.

Indy cars and F-1 drive in rain conditions on road courses,,,,,,. I understand oval track races and rain,,,but wetness on a drying track should not be a problem. JMO

PoolPlaster > I can talk some smack now,,,I picked the winner!
Damn Kenseth let me down,,,,he was running up there in 3rd, and then back peddled to the finish > assmunch.

but seriously, I'm thinking of making a driver ineligible to pick on races that his crew chief is suspended...

That would be fair...
