The newscast just now said everyone is accounted for. No deaths that they know of yet. It was a lake that had been built on top of a mountain. They cut off the top of the mountain and hollowed it out. The dirt and fill that came off the top of the mountain was used to build another dam at the bottom of the mountain. The two lakes are connected with huge pipes. At night when the demand for electricity is low. Water is pumped up to the lake on the top. Then during the day they let the water run back down to the bottom lake. Turbines are run by the force of the water running back down the mountain. Been there for quite a few years now. I haven't heard anyone say what they think happened to the dam. It was the upper lake's dam that broke, I think. They think the lower dam is in danger of collapse now. It drains down a river that runs thru a State Park. The flood washed away the Park Superintendent's house. They found him in a tree down river. Wet, but OK. Weird.

New info today. A switch that shuts off the pumps that sends the water to the top reservoir failed when it was full and it just over-flowed the lip of the upper reservoir. As the water over-flowed the lip of the reservoir, it started washing out the lip. Dumped millions of gallons of water down the side of the mountain. Big mess, but still no-one killed. The park superintendent had his kids with him. They are injured but not life-threatening.
