my wife PAt and I were sitting quietly in the living room when I thought it would be a good time to discuss directives. I turned to her and said,
"Just so you know, I never want to live in a
vegetative state, dependent on
some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that
ever happens, just pull the plug."
Pat got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all of my beer.
