Weather sucks, been raining off and on all weekend. Between seeing my Dad at the hospital and catching up on paper work, getting pretty depressing.
Think maybe a cruise up PCH to Seattle and maybe see Graces shop (if she joins us on this trip at the end).
Lets stop here past Cambria and Hearst Castle and snap a few pics of the drive. This is were we just came thru
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/Coast_trip_2007_031.jpg
And the road ahead, looks like we might run into some fog on the way. Better slip a jacket or sweater on before we leave.

Ahh....LOVE the bridges on PCH. Guess it is the construction guy in me. And PCH has some great ones. Look familiar???

Lets see, Pigeon Point Lighthouse should be up here somewhere. Ahh, here we go, one of the many lighthouses along the way. Maybe a quick look see and pic then lets get back on the road.

Anyone else care to join the road trip, or should Cathi and I continue alone?

Gotta stop in San Francisco since we go right thru it and see a few sights.
Pretty sure I saw Goatfalls Bob coming out of the "museum" in this building (right side).
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/Coast_trip_2007_day_2_005.jpg
Maybe look at Alcatraz
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/Coast_trip_2007_day_2_012.jpg
And this road looks pretty crooked
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/Coast_trip_2007_day_2_024.jpg
Lets take a quick drive down it and see what everyone is looking at
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/Coast_trip_2007_day_2_034.jpg
And last but not least, I think I remember being here in the early 70's but the memory is a little (maybe a LOT) hazy about the place

Well.....maybe enough time spent here, better head for the bay bridge now. Still looking for some folks to join in.

Woah......sorry DC. Couldn't wait any longer. Thought you and Skan got stuck in traffic, or the baby needed changing, LOL. We are going to wait on the other side of the bay bridge for you.
Better hurry though, a lot more to see up the road before dark.

Thought for sure we would run into more members. Where the heck is Larry Lord? He's always up for a trip.
Might see Roger Freeman somewhere up the road also. He's alway's driving this road headed to Az. Think he heads out there to bail out Smelly Cat Salzman when he starts hitting the sauce a little to much. :rll: :rll: :rll:

And to set the record straight, Larry was NOT following my directions, he decided to use that GPS he bought from you! :rll::rll::rll: Guess he is having some troubles, LOL. Oh well, break out the map book now and get back on track Larry.
Miss Kitty, just jump on over to the left coast. You are welcome anytime.
Mike...In the middle of rain right now. Nice time to get outta here and enjoy the road. At least our rain stays wet, doesn't freeze like yours does!

I sometimes forget that PCH travels through some beautiful countryside.
There are some really nasty sections of it when it makes its way through Long Beach!:eek2:

...beautiful pictures
...the curvy street reminds me of a scene from "Bullit" where the Charger and Mustang were rubbing the walls on the way down....
...runnin Route 66 used to be my dream cruise, but after traveling much of it I have realized it just doesn't really exist anymore...PCH is one I want to do in the near future...

Route 66 through Golden Valley and into Bullhead City AZ used to be a favorite trip on my chopper,... as small as that road is, and the severity of the curves I think the route is better suited to a motorcycle.. ;)

Tangled, Route 66 still exists, you just have to close your eyes and think back to the old days. Agree that most is gone, but I still enjoy seeing the sights that are left, and remembering what it used to be like traveling the country. Back when the trip itself was the adventure, enjoying all the sights and quircky tourist traps that each area of the country had to offer.
Nowadays that is lost. It's strictly a race to get from point A to point B without seeing the countryside.
Yep, while 66 is gone to some degree, the adventure is still there.
And no one has the tree yet?
Grace: You are correct with 66. Love the drive from Bullhead city to Seligman. Oatman, Kingman, Hackberry, etc. are great stops and perfect scenery. Great in the Prowler, has to a blast on the bike.
