Good looking boxes. Thanks
GREAT link ............ thanks !
It would be GREAT to get a speaker box with a sub enclosure !
I love our Real Rod box, but wouldn't mind to have 2 x 10" subs in the back
like they have done in the pics :tu:

I remember there was a shop that built a custom box for a yellow. Car was up for sale shortly after that. Guy was offering to build them for about $1K??

Here is our Real Rod Speaker Cover which we really like, but like the others the cost was up there,
near the $800 price tag after getting it painted and the airbrush design.

We noticed an improvement in the sound, probably because of the fiberglass versus the stock cloth cover.
I kinda like that one

I like it Pat, $800 is not bad with airbrushing and all I think, wonder if that company can make similar or the same as the Real rod style, i like it !!!!

I have sent you a PM explaining my position on why we should not slam people that offer items for sale.....
The other site bans members , we do not.... I thought that has been made clear to everyone many times.
I am accountable for all my posts, as is everyone.....the reason I even mentioned it this time is because if was starting to happen on a regular basis and I've seen it ruin other sites classified sections. Prowltalk has had none of this up until recently...
lets put it behind us and be positive...

From what I remember the price was around $750 painted, $650 primed with screens installed, and around $500 for the raw unit with loose screens.
I don't see the one for $1,000. as being overpriced when you are looking at them being made one at a time. Bob had several orders for these before he made them, and they were made in a production oriented facility. The one that is made here in California is handlaid, one at a time. You cannot compare that to production quantity and therefore, production pricing.
You also have to consider that Bob made these several years ago, and material and labor costs have gone up also.
At least there is a source for something custom out there, wether or not folks want to take advantage of it is there choice.

We all have our own price tolerances/limits on what we spend $$$ on. A large portion of the decision is personal choice and how bad you want something.
Do I believe some stuff is overpriced? Sure, but what is accomplished by griping about the price? Either you want the item and you buy it, you don't buy it, you try to make one yourself or you find someone making one cheaper.
There is a lot of stuff I would like to have. And either I can't afford to get it or won't pay the price for whatever item it is. Just sounds like sour grapes when someone complains about the price. jmho

Our cover was purchased primed ($600+), since we didn't know what color we were going to
paint it and knowing it was going to be airbrushed, thought we'd leave it up to the painter.

The guy offering the one I posted was offering it painted. Pretty fair deal, considering he had the oppy to sell no more than 5 of them.

Whatever on the $. I am just glad there are guys out there to do custom stuff for our cars. When I can afford it ,I will do it. I won't worry how much it is, that's what it is , I'll have it when I can. Same goes for my hard top and the lambo kit. Both big $ to me, but they will get done.
