They were talking about this on the other board and it looks like you can get rebuilt for $180-225. If you want I'll go over there and get the part numbers and were they bought them. Let me know.

Alternator from chrysler 400 +, you should have the same one I have which has the clutch on the front. I have not yet found a parts house yet that sell this alternator.
I believe the switch was made between 2000 and 2001.
Belts 10 to 20 each.
Pulley, just a guess off of a different vehicle, under a $100.

Labor, bend over.:rll:

Easily as much as the parts, hope I'm wrong but that has been my experience.

For That Price I'd Have To Install It Myself. The Place Where I Took The Kat Told Me Like $400.00 For The Alt Or $323.00 Rebuilt, I'd Rather Have A New One And I Trust Their Work Not The Dealers.

There is a difference between pre 2001 and 2001/2002 alternators.
I think the one everyone quotes is the early version.
I don't believe you can swap them between this years because of belt alignment issues. Could be wrong, but I know there is a difference.

No clutch Pre 2001
Clutch on 2001, and probably 2002.

correct pulley and bosch part #12314 per murriy's auto parts 184.99+49.00 core charge

If you go this route Rick, make sure your getting the right one.

The normal pulley alternator and the clutch on the 2001's do not mount the same and are not interchangable. I just went thru this issue in tulsa.

I just replaced both belts yesterday, price was inexpensive.
Also changed both idler pulleys as one of them was very noisy.
Buddy gave me the part numbers as 99 model differs from later models.

Could that have been the noise that you had when you were asking last month about the noise. onecatnodog
