As a gesture of ProwlTalk goodwill and support for the CO Prowler folks and their planned 2008 National Event, SkanKat and I will be headed to Denver this weekend!

We will be meeting up with John (OneCatNoDog) and giving him a pat (or was it a smack/slap?) on the back on behalf of David and PT folks here :tu:

Hope to take lots of pics to share them with folks here to help promote next year's national event!

Sounds like a great weekend and glad you are going as a liaison for "Prowl Talk" in support of the upcoming 2008 CO National Event that is being planned by Onecatnodog & the other area CO Prowler owners. Will the POA head cheese be there to show their support of the event? oh, I forgot they're a no show ...again.

Have a good time DC & SkanKat & take lots of pics for PT. :tu:

I have recieved permission to post about this from DreamCast today as we have been working on it for sometime now... We have set up some events for him to do while he is here as Skankat loves the early Shelbys so we will be headed to the museum after the morning parade on Saturday... They will be going to the Royal Gorge on Friday to see "The Crazy Bridge"... I'm glad that all the hard work that he did on working his schedule and location of a hotel to make it happen just as planed.. I hope his luck will be better than Sno and Freeze had as the Colorado Prowlers did the same for them only to have it ruined by bandits... Next time Tom we will pull it off. This offer is out there for Prowler owners to come to Colorado and The Colorado Prowlers will show you a good time... If you can't make it to the 2008 Event let us know as our owners do cruises all the time and you could be with us.. Had 4 join us last month for fun... (C.C.P.C. Colorado Crazy Prowler Cruisers) That's US.. Thanks, onecatnodog=John Collins:burnout

Note: We are using the 5 Stars as the best choice/recommendation. We believe Prowler folks like stars? :statiictongue:

1. Westin @ Westminister

We picked this hotel simply because we are huge SPG (Starwood) fans.

Here's the shot of hotel from the Indian statue:

http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/534/medium/Westin_04.jpg

We got a mountain-view room:

It cost more than the regular room.
Not worth the money if you ask us.
Save the $$$ and buy more beer! You can be the judge:

Clean nice hotel with good choice of entertainment facilities and chain restaurants nearby.
Great location, right between Denver and Boulder.
Excellent man-made lake in front of hotel to throw your drunk prowler buddies into :nono:
Skip the mountain view rooms; not worth the money.
Get a SPG-Platinum friend to book the room if you are not one. This will gurantee you the best available room they can give you in the hotel.

2. Larimer Square (and 16th St Mall)

16th Street Mall was so-so.

We recommend going to the Denver Pavillion and walking up 16th St (if you absolutely have to see 16th St)

At Larimer St, cut to Larimer Square!

Lots of things there:

Boutique Shops
Great dining choices
Lots of pubs/bars!

Great place to go for dining and drinks!
Go early if you want to shop...the shops close early! (6pm!)
You can really skip 16th Street Mall...its OK at best.
Parking is EXPENSIVE..but John knows where to get cheap parking!URL Links:

3. American Shelby Collection

Unfortunately, we did not take any pictures in Boulder :icon_sad:

Downtown Boulder was very very nice...wished we had more time to spend there!

Enroute to Boulder, if you have the interest in Shelby racing...stop by the American Shelby Collection!

Steve Volk (guy in the middle), owner of some of the Shelbys on display gave a personal tour of the collection:

4. Cracker Barrel (Breakfast Place)

We saw a big sign for a CB and immediately remembered the breakfast we had with Pepe and Ms Kitty in Ala-BAMA!

So when John suggested breakfast, we said...'hey! There's a Cracker Barrel! And we don't have them in LaLa Land!'

Russell and Kathy were dragged out of bed by John for a long haul to CB, it was great meeting you folks!!! :tu:

5. Garden of Gods

Here's our honest opinion about Garden of Gods:

If you are from CA, NV, NM or AZ, you might not be impressed with it
If you are from any where else, you will be impressed with itThis is me pondering why some Prowler owners like Cool-Aid that much:

I guess our expectations were a little too high!
You should cruise thru this area ON THE WAY back from the Royal Gorge
That way, if you are short on time, you can skip this.
Non-CA, NV, NM or AZ folks should definitely see this (will up rating to 3 STARS)
CA, NV, NM or AZ folks should spend more time @ the Royal Gorge.URL Link:

Take the cable car from the visitor center:

They post the 'Next Cable Car' timing at the center, so you can plan around it:

And off we go!

And this is the view you get from the Cable Car:

http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/539/medium/CB_10.jpg

Once you get to the other end:

you can take the same cable car back
or walk back across the bridge and pass by a 'zoo' (with buffalos, deers etc)We really enjoy walking along the bridge:

Nope..we'll let someone else hand it out during the National 2008 Event :tu:

7. John + Rest of CO Prowler folks (Russell, Bob, Grant, Glennis, Stephen etc etc sorry, bad with names!)
