After an awesome trip to Woodward and talking to many of you about the Colo. 08 event,one thing was clear, everybody is ready to come out next year. For most the dates will work fine, for others, they would rather see a weekend to weekend event planned. I would like to see a quick poll (like by Wednesday , Aug.29 '07 ). Here's the scoup! The dates we have picked out, June 19 thru June 24 were negotiated at an awesome rate of 99.00 per night. After returning from Woodward and talking with hotel management.We could move the event to June 29 '08 thru Fri. July 4 th. But the best rate available would be 120.00 per night. Not only would this put you on the highways over a major holiday, but would increase our clubs cash outlay by 12000,00 . based on a count of 100 rooms. That would buy alot of gas! I need to hear from you soon so we can move forward for a great time regardless of the date. Thanks Carl & Pam

Thanks Rick for starting Carls post over here... This is another bump to keep it up and going... The Colorado Prowlers thank you for the responses that you have given and are looking for more as there are a bunch that haven't responded yet. So please do so! For me, no matter what is planed I will go as I want to see some of the people that were so nice to me in Tulsa, and the friends that I have made on the computer. Either date works out fine for me, but I think you will have a much better turn out with a weekend to weekend.

With the dates you have selected on the weekend to weekend, does that mean folks will check out on the 4th or 5th? I think it would be cool to watch fireworks as a group.

as far as Canada goes.. I guess Montreal could be ok, but they all speak french and drive like Godzilla on PCP...

I've always wanted to go to the Smokies and have heard some many great things about it...

We do need a PT event... If we can make it simple and not a ton of work for the organizers... it could be great for everyone...heck we don't need a ton of activities... a nightly BBQ and party, a cruise in the day, thats what its all about...!

There are many posts saying everyone is welcome but then you want to have the Colorado event be a PT only event???? That doesn't make sense to me. If you really want people to join PT and participate on the forum, why would you exclude the very people you are hoping will come over here?

I think Johns intention is to have a Prowler event.... without restrictions on club memberships.... open to all.... You will not get any opposition to that here, but likely to get some at the POA for all the obvious reasons, they promote functions where you need membership to attend... some of our people have been banned and wouldn't "qualify".....:nono:

Bring that up over there and you'll get forwarned....

I think there will be an exclusive PT event in the future...time will tell..
keep in mind that since we do not ban people then all Prowler owners will be welcome as well as just fans of the car who sign up.

However if we do a PT Planned event IT will be supported by PT and not the other way around...everyone will be welcomed and all can park ,etc,etc...

I don't think anyone is trying to "exclude" anyone. It might have needed to be worded differently.

Prowl Talk needs to put on an event I think.

Woodward was a POA event.... Those words came directly out of RPL's mouth. However there were ProwlTalk members there....

So by saying "xxxxxxxxx" is a ProwlTalk event, doesn't mean that POA members can't come or aren't welcome, it just means that it is being put on by ProwlTalk people.

2008 Colorado event > June 19 thru June 24 > as originally planned, works best for us. An event near July 4th Holiday,,,makes it nearly impossible for Lethia to get off work. We could try.....but not sure on that second set of dates.

Colorado Prowlers Event in 2008 (June 19th -24th) is a open event and no matter what site you are from. Whether you own a Prowler, Viper, Corvette, or what ever you have that you are more than WELCOME to come join us... We are always looking for new owners, old owners, or want to be owners to see and enjoy the fun that we are having. I hope that at this event ALL PEOPLE will put aside there differences and not let anything so STUPID as COLOR, CREAD, AGE, LOOKS, SMARTS, MONEY, or lack there of, cause any PROBLEMS... Just attend and treat others the way that you yourself would want to be treated... It's That Simple! No Way - I can make it if the dates stay the 19 - 24. That leaves me using two weeks of vacation for 1 prowler event.

Brian - we're only going to use a week's vacation no matter what dates are decided on. We'll arrive there on a Sunday and leave on a Saturday. THat means we will either get there a few days early, cruise on on own and see everybody for the first few days of the event or miss the miss the first couple of days and then stay after the event for a few days and cruise on our own. I have had several others express interest in doing the same thing and have found several "travel" hotels - like the ones used for Woodward that we can stay at for a few days before or after the actual event.

To follow up on my above post. Are there others that would want to arrive a few days before the event, stay at another hotel (cheaper than the $159.00 a night the Marriott wants, cruise on our own for a few days then stay for the first few days of the event? I am absolutely NOT trying to undermine the event. I am thankful Carl, John and others are planning what willm surely be a great event. We just can not take more than a week's vacation next year for a Prowler event and would rather see everyone and be there for a few days of the event than not at all. Once we get an idea of how many people may want to go early and travel on weekends, we can find hotel to accomodate our stay at the beginnning of the event.

COOL IT'S A GO Before the 4th.. The dates go as they were... June 19th Thur. -June 25th Wed. I was so worried that the event would be moved closer to the 4th and that I would have to miss it as I have a class reunion.. I did not say anything as the event is about the owners and there cars not just one individual... Boy did I luck out! I would hate to miss my home state event... I know that the dates will cause some conflict with some and be no problem for others just like always, and that the Colorado Prowlers will do what ever it takes to help show our state to anyone that comes early or stays later than the planed events date. As you can tell by my posts that the Colorado Prowlers Cruise MAYBE more than any other state, at least post and tell a story about it. I think that this will be the first Prowler Event that could be TWO WEEKS LONG... I could be wrong... I will work with anyone that has to come in early or late to help them make arrangements for the dates that will work for them... I will put to work Multi Cruises for any early or late arrivals to keep them busy as we are close to all the great runs that we have been doing.. I'm sure the Colorado Prowler Pals will be more than happy to show you around as there is plenty to see here in Colorful Colorado.. Put us on your list for things to do in 2008 and we will make it work for you. Heck for all of you that are retired come play for TWO WEEKS...I can keep you busy! Event thursday June 19 thru tuesday June 24. Tuesday and wednesday travel days out, wednesday and thursday travel days back. Sure I could work the monday before and the friday after, but that still leaves me using 8 vacation days.

Its about 900 miles one way for me, not something I have any desire to drive in 1 day.

Rick, I am working on a plan that would let you start the event on Sunday before the event at a different hotel like Sno is going to do. I am willing to make sure that you have stuf to keep you busy like some of the cruises that you have seen me post... Marty is taking a count of who will be coming in early and looks to be close to 20 cars.. I will use that list to Maybe work a deal with the Marriot since they won't work with Carl in moving the dates with out te same price. If they don't Marty and I will make arangments at another hotel close by... and the Marriot will lose out on THE MONEY.. Same plan for the ones showing later in the week and staying later than the planed event... Making it a two week event... Giving it more flexablity to the Prowler owners.. I am trying to make it easer for the ones that have a conflect with the dates of the event.. I would like ALL PROWLERS to attend no mater the Dates that are posted for the event... We're booked for June 19 and 20 at the Marriott (event hotel) and will be trying to get a decent rate for the Sunday through Wednesday prior to the event. John has looked at four hotels we have talked with for pre event arrivals as well as several others. Once we see which hotel seems to work best for those that want to come early (and only use a week's vacation, like us) John will post the info - hopefully by the end of this week.

You are so right about Colorado in the Summer. I've driven up Mt. Evans on clear days and on one foggy day. We popped up out of the clouds at about 11,500 feet and could only see the peaks of the tallest mountains in any direction - cooool site.

Snowman - I finally got to talk with one of the hotels about rates for the Sunday - Wed before the event. I asked for the best rate without any commisions, discounts for planners, meeting rooms, etc. - just the cheapest rate for r20 -25 rooms and a place to park aour cars & trailers for a few days prior to moving to the event hotel. They have plenty of room for "some" trailers and I am waiting for them to fax/email me rates. If over $100 a night I have a backup hotel ready to contact.

Summitt County is one of our favorite places in the whole country. We had friends that livewd at Copper Mountain for almost 15 years and visited there and least a dozen times. They just moved to Texas earlier this year. We've asked them to think about joining us in Denver next June.
