34th ANNUAL TURKEY RUN in DAYTONA BEACH

I haven't found where anyone has started a thread in regards to the upcoming best event of the year the 34th Annual "Turkey Run" held each year during the long Thanksgiving weekend at the International Motor Speedway in Daytona Beach FL. It runs from Thursday 11/22 thru Sunday 11/25. If you have Thanks Giving open, without family and friends, this IS the event. Great group of Prowlers are allowed in the car show and swap meet, in no small part by efforts of Jay & Nancy. Come join in 2+ beautiful days at the track in Daytona and a most memorable cruise up and down the Atlantic Ocean. Fantastic picture scenery and back drops for knock dead pictures of our Prowlers.
Barbaque on Friday at the track and Saturday we will be roasting pigs for a fantastic meal venue, AT THE TRACK.
Should be more than 6,000 hot rods and better than 1,000 cars for sale in the corral. Some in attendance bought their first Cat at this event. Unbelievable venue for hot rods and the Cats, a few Snakes too. (Viper's)

MANY WILL ARRIVE THURSDAY & WE WILL HAVE A PLACE FOR ALL TO MEET FOR A KAT PACK THANKSGIVING DINNER WITH FRIENDS. LARRY AND LORI HISS WILL BE ROASTING A COUPLE OF PIGS AT THE TRACK. WE WILL HAVE BAKED BEANS AND SLAW TO GO WITH THE PORK. THERE WILL ALSO BE SOFT DRINKS FOR ALL ON BOTH DAYS.
BECAUSE OF THE ADDED FOOD & DRINKS, WE WILL BE ASKING FOR $15 PER PERSON FOR THE 2 DAYS OF FOOD AND DRINKS TO COVER THE ADDED COSTS. ON SATURDAY, WE HAVE PLOTTED OUT A CRUISE THAT WILL TAKE US ABOUT 80 MILES. TIME-WISE IT IS ABOUT 2 HOURS OF DRIVING. WE WILL LEAVE THE TRACK JUST AFTER THE PIG ROAST AND END UP ON THE BEACH AT BEL-AIR PLAZA WHERE ALL THE SHOW CARS GO AT NIGHT. DURING THE CRUISE WE WILL STOP TWICE FOR PHOTOS AND AT ONE OF THE STOPS, A BATHROOM BREAK. THE SECOND PHOTO OP WILL BE AT THE BEACH IN FLAGLER WHERE WE STOPPED THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. YOU WILL ENJOY THE DRIVE EVEN IF IT IS A BIT LONG FOR SOME.

We need to know your intentions whether or not your are going to participate in the 34th annual Turkey Rod Run with us. We have to make arrangements for the food and drinks (quantity) and be assured we have enough parking for all the Kats that will attend.

Make yourself known by sending a check for the $15 per person for both days and make sure to register for the TRR with the promoter @ www.turkeyrun.com (http://www.turkeyrun.com).

FYI for anyone on the edge about attending the Turkey Run. The rate being held for all Prowlers at the Courtyard Marriott Daytona Beach is about half their normal rate for that time so you may want to go ahead and book asap. It is $99/nite + taxes for a King nonsmoking. Refer to previous posts for phone number & group code.

So far we only have 13 committed Kats for the 2007 Turkey Rod Run. We need your intent and your money for the club parking and food as soon as possible so we can plan the event. We normally have about 30-35 Kats at this event.

This year, I have club parking decals that will get you into the club parking area. No decal and they will only park you in the general parking area.
