Just wondering what your opinions are on these new stamps out of Mexico.

I'm going to have to buy me some. Sure to be a collectors item.

Wow, I didn't think they were such a big deal. Bid on two different groups. Also took the survey if I was offended or not. Right now it has 62% saying no and 38% saying yes.

They're really getting rich off of this, but I think that the value will still be high for these here in the states.

I disagree, they do look like monkeys to me. Actually most people in this country are white so whats your point? That "white" statement is racist in its self. The old Amos and Andy show had everyone laughing for years, black and white. Then when it came out that the two guys doing the show were white, all hell broke loose.

It's OK for white people to be called honkies, crackers, etc., but don't use the "N' word even tho a lot of blacks use it. If it is such a derogatory word why would anyone use it. It gets to the point of being silly. I thought we have freedom of speech and expression in this country. I'm really tired of all this sensitive crap. When someone looks at something, they see what they want to see.....and I see monkeys. Your point?

MEXICO CITY - President Vicente Fox said Friday that U.S. activists who have called a new series of Mexican postage stamps racist do not understand the issue and should read the comic book on which the stamps are based.

“They don’t have information, frankly,” Fox said in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press.

U.S. black activists and the White House have criticized the stamps featuring Memin Pinguin, a black-faced image of a child that has been condemned as racist.

“All Mexico loves the character,” Fox said, adding that he himself was fond of it.

He said White House spokesman Scott McClellan should have had more information before objecting to the stamps and calling them an example of racial stereotyping.

U.S. activists — including the Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Al Sharpton and leaders of other civil rights and Latino organizations — also have criticized the stamps and urged that they be withdrawn.

Fox’s spokesman, Ruben Aguilar, said the government “emphatically rejects these complaints, which are the products of lack of knowledge or people who want publicity.”

He did not name those to whom he referred.

“By no means is Mexico considering the possibility” of withdrawing the stamps, Aguilar said, accusing critics of being “people who want to take advantage of this ... to seek publicity within American society.”

The stamps were being offered on eBay at prices topping $200 for a full sheet. Hundreds of people lined up at Mexico City’s main post office to buy them for 6.50 pesos — about 60 U.S. cents — when they went on sale Friday.

Now you are getting the right attitude. It's like Oprah bitching because this store in England wouldn't let her shop. The fact that the store had been closed for twenty minutes I guess didn't matter. I would like to see you or I trying to get into a store that's closed and have them open up for us. Yeah, in a pigs eye. Everyone should be treated equal, but none more equal than another. If they are closed they are closed. What is hard about that to understand? They did not let her in because she was black, they did not let her in because they were CLOSED!

1. You read as well as you post, which by the way is awful. I said my daughter who lives in California got me the stamps. California is a part of this country. Since you work for the Post Office one would think you would know that. Then again, maybe not.

2. In reference to my "fat ass" I doubt it is as large as yours.

4. My life, it's as good as it can get. Married my high school sweetheart in 1958, have three great children and seven grandchildren.
