I'm sure there are many ways to post a picture here on the site but the one way I find easy is this:

onecatnodog... this is for you !

I save all pictures that I intend to post on my desk top so I can find them easy. Make sure they are sized so as they are no larger than 640 x 640.

click on Prowltalk Cool Stuff on the upper parge of the forum page.

click on New photo Gallery

click on Upload pictures on the bar under Cool stuff

you will go to upload photo section where you will see 8 Browze buttons

click on Browze and select a photo you would like to post on your computer. click open on the chose file window and it will accept the photo

go to the bottom of that section and click the upload/submit button (I don't use the extra options section)

you will then go to the Add photo section where you will click Process

your gallery page will appear and show you the picture

click on the picture you want to post

it will now show the picture in a larger size, under the picture and next to your avatar you will see 2 Copy to Clipboard buttons, chose the bottom one that says BB Code

you will now be able to right click and paste this code into the body of your post and once you post it the picture will appear.

here is a hint, use your browzer to get into the Prowltalk site twice, in 2 seperate windows. this way you can be in the new photo gallery on one and post the pictures into your post on the other. just click poy to clipboard on one then past into the other window on your post, back to the other to get another photo and into the post to paste another photo.

make sure you past your photo BB codes on different lines in your post so they will show one on top of eachother.

thats it !

once you get it the first time it is a breeze....I'm sure there are better ways to do it, but this works good for me.

hope this helps some of you.....be persistant...we all would like to see your shots...

pm me if you need help....

Thanks, HaliCat... I will work on it. But what if you are lifting the pictures that you have posted on another site. I have been using the Cut and Paste and that is were the problem comes from... I THINK... If I could learn to move them like you did for me I wouldn't feel like a dummy as I have not tried to post a picture any other way. Speeking of pictures Check out the plates on my friend Carter's Prowler (HELLCAT) you need these, but from your state... onecatnodoghttp://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/image_uploads/100_3406.jpg

When getting picture from another site, I just save them to my desktop then upload them to Prowltalk... If I don't think I will ever need to use them again, I then delete them off the desktop.... like I said , I'm sure there are better ways to do it, but this one works great for me.

One or 2 things to add

You can upload pictures of nearly any size - the server will resize for you- BUT uploading big pics takes a LONG time - what you could do is go get Microsoft's image resizer powertoy - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

look on the right about halfway down

Its a cool tool that will let you right click a picture or group of pictures and choose resize and then pick a size and in a minute it makes a copy that is the size you pick

I would pic 1024 x768 since thats the largest the gallery here allows

Finally you can in many cases repost a picture here that is already somewhere else

this is the image from the powertoys site
http://img.microsoft.com/library/media/1033/windowsxp/images/downloads/powertoys/img_powertoys.gif

I just right click it and choose properties and then copy the URL to the image itself. I n firefox its called the Location. In this case it was htt p://img.microsoft.com/library/media/1033/windowsxp/images/downloads/powertoys/img_powertoys. gif i added spaces so the software wouldnt make it a url

Then click the picture icon here and paste the url and you are done

You can see its coming straight form MS's server

As was mentioned its easier with 2 browsers open

Some servers prevent linking and you might get an error
