Went back through Jasper, FL again this past Tuesday after picking up the new SSR in GA. Saw the Ed the Postmaster again and we toured more of the town. Really a throwback to the 40's or so. Their claim to fame is that they hung the last person that was hung in FL back in the late 30's I was told that and then saw the old jail and the hangin' tower. Pretty unique and then went over to Live Oak (about 15 minutes away and had dinner at a neat little diner with some great food and cheap too! I could see another side trip there in the future. I have the newspapers from the day we were there and we are on the front page with a picture and a caption. Those of you that were there with us, send me your addresses and I will get a copy of the newspaper out to you as soon as possible as I forgot to get them when we were there.

Wally... I will include a "reminder" in the next Florida Kat Pack UPDATE, for those that participated in this historic Prowlin' Adventure, to make contact with you in order to receive their personal copy of the newspaper.

THANKS for your extra effort in creating this wonderful Prowlin' memories for our enjoyment. What are you planning for the Turkey Run???

Sincerely,

I was thinking that we could have a cruise later in the day on Fri or Sat, say leaving the track about 3 PM and then going on either a cruise on "The Loop" in Ormond Beach up through Flagler ending on A1A on the beach. This goes through Tomoka State Park is very shaded and a very pristine environment. There is a nice restaurant (sort of home style) called Martin's with a view of the ocean from the dining room that is sort of on the way once we reach the ocean side that we could get dinner at and we could then cruise some more to St Augustine and then back or just go back to our respective places of residence. All just a thought at this moment but one I will check out in the coming weeks. Maybe all told with the cruising and dinner...about 3 hours. Those willing to endure can stop back at the hotels on A1A on the way back where all the hot rods gather for the evening across from Bel-Air Plaza as this would be about the time that they all start coming back to their hotels from the track.

Of course that leaves another day for the rendezvous for dinner at PJ's in New Smyrna Beach if you still want or have to do that. I think some of the group got a little tired of the all day thing at the track and this may be a great alternative after being there for 5 hours or so. I would suggest Fri as the better day.

Give me some idea how this stacks up and I'll go from there..........
