All Diamond Audio Hex Series Components, include the 10 inch inverted sub you see in the picture. With the sub inverted it disperses the bass as to make it more none directional.

There is also a 4 channel 600watt Diamond Amp (bridged to 2 - this increases the output) in the rear. Planning on going bigger as soon as I have time. My goal is to double everything!!!

Looks nice Mcrealty...but I'm waiting to see if anyone has replaced the stock sub and reused the original sub grill.

Thanks!

Brian,
I'm Planning On Taking Out The Stock Sub And Putting 2 Jl Speakers In That Area, Also On Top In The Rear, Then 2 Speakers In The Dash And 2 Speakers In The Doors, Then A 10 Inch Sub In The Passenger Footwell, An Alpine In Dash Cd/xm Radio, An Amp In The Trunk, It's Gotta Sound Better Than It Does Now.

Yep, sure did.. The whole mess started when I went to replace my speakers due to dry-rot. The center speaker is not a sub, it is a 6.5" speaker with an external crossover.. That is, there are 4 wires going to it. After not seeing this in the wire diagrams, I decided to bite the bullet and replace the system since I wanted a head unit with sirius. It was not that hard, and just took some measure twice-cut once + sand to get it right. The cover is vinyl, which I just stapled into place.
I did talk to the folks at tweeter regarding building a custom enclosure from fiberglass.. They thought it was a $1500 job.. I went the cheap route and built that for about $40 in supplies + $60 in beer :-P

Good info binster!!!:tu:

Couldn't you have just replaced the fake sub with another high quality 6.5" speaker?

It does sound as if you wanted a whole NEW system anyway.

My drivers side door speaker is shot. Besides Kappa's, what other options do I have that are compatible to the Prowler sound system?

Here's what I used Paul on my door speakers!

Thanks to a fabricating wiz of a friend of mine, I went with a pair of Boston Acoustic FX-6's.

They "Tweeter" did not have an exact replacement so my friend took a wizzer wheel and cut the outside edge off of the blown paper cone original Infinity speaker that was previously installed in the kat. I then used that portion of the the old speaker and screwed it back into the door panel.

Then all I had to do was pre-drill and screw the new Boston Acoustics into the outside ring of the old speaker.

I'm very pleased with the results!!! They sound and look great for a price tag of only $99.99. They are built very well. The cone is made out of polypropylene which is extremely resilient to the weather.

I just bought the Kappa's that Pumpkin recommended and got them new on Ebay for under $200 for the 4 speakers.

Looks like I need to replace both door speakers (at least). I don't listen to music to often but the passenger's always want it. My son likes it loud and he blew the speakers.

Does anyone know the output per speaker and ohm requirements that I need to match the new speakers to?

I want to research my options before jumping into this further.

I just went through the same thing. I decided instead of researching extensively a subject I don't know enough about ... rely on the experts. Most everyone that is an audiophile on Prowltalk or POA has recommended the Kappa's. Pumpkin even has a "how-to" on setting them up. So that's what I decided to do.
