Has anyone had the guts out of the headlight box.
I have seen one or two pictures of Kats with the lens painted.
I need to take mine apart to clean the lens.
Will the guts come out without splitting the two half's of the box?
I don't think so.

Eddie,
I've taken a set apart.... it took me about an hour to get them seperated, you have to get a thin blade in the crack where they are siliconed together, all you can do is use patience and keep at it.
I may have to take mine apart again , the fellas put them together in a rush and forgot to wipe off the inner lens.. it has dirt on the inside and looks like hell when the lights are on....
I used a drywall knife...

I have to clean mine too!
I wonder if using about an 18" piece of fishing line would work. Maybe tying a dowel on both ends then continuously working it back and forth on the seam.
I have taken out windshields before with a method similar to this.

That could work....you would probably need someone to hold it still.
even a guitar string may do the trick...the oem glue is pretty tough stuff..

I had a old extra light box that I split a month or so ago just to see how hard it would be.
It was a pain!
Used the heat gun to see if that would help, I think it does but not looking forward to doing it again.
Now looking for a shortcut on the project.
If it take it off the car and use Windex or something like that and try to spray it all over the lens from the back side, let it set a few seconds, then take the water hose
and fill the box up with water, then shake it around to rinse it out.
May need to rinse a couple times.
Do you think that will work or make it worse?
Has anyone tryed anything like this?

P/Diddy - your plan,,,,,I doubt will work,,,but one never knows. One thing for sure,,,,,you'll have to use distilled water, not tap water,,,,,otherwise you'll just have water spots on the inside instead of dirt. Worth a try though.
good luck

This thing had Superman spots on it.
Had to open the half's to clean it.
Done Done.
