SHOW TIME

To All Prowler Owners and Cruising Friends:

On Saturday, April 9th, Central Avenue in downtown Phoenix will be taken over by classic cars, muscle cars, customs, rat rods, lowriders, bikes, tuners - there will be a little of everything cruising up & down Central during the 2011 Spring Cruise on Central, and parked in the Park Central Makk parking lot.

The Prowler group will meet in the parking lot of the Duck & Decanter at 3111 N Central, right across the street from Park Central Mall starting around 11:00 AM. Come early for a good spot - the lot fills up by 2:00.
If you chose to park in the Park Central parking lot, across the street, be aware there is a $10 fee to pay to park there. If you get to our meeting lot in time for a spot, there is no fee to pay to park there. Sorry, its impossible to save spots. Come early, stay late. With good weather permitting, expect to see 2,500 cars on display and tens of thousands of spectators attending. Prepare for a long day in downtown Phoenix. Plenty of food vendors nearby.

At our past four weeks of saturday car shows,,,,,we've had perfect 75 to 80 degree weather, clear skies, and full sunshine.

That ends today,,,little warm here, but its a dry heat :devil


Our normal highs for this date, is 81.

Thanks for your concern and comments. Two years ago our group had saved ONE spot for 15 minutes, while one of our club members was trying to enter the Park Central lot from the south street. The golf cart security gal said not to save that spot,,and sent the off-duty Phx. police over to give us trouble. We argued that the person was 'in line' waiting to get into the lot. We nicely argued our point, but the cop was "rude and in our faces" about it,,,and threatened to kick several of us out of the grounds. You need to screen your off duty police officers to be more accommodating to the paying public. This cop was a total asshole. Let me state that our group has been coming down to the Central event for nearly 10 years, and didn't have a problem with paying. We know the event set-up costs money, but we do support the food and car parts vendors who buy spaces from you. Since, we have opted to move our cars elsewhere due to the rudeness of your securtiy force. We will check out your claim about the lot across the street being leased, but I personally think you are BS us. That lot has been empty for many years, and is full of pot holes to start with. Who would lease it? Regardless, we will attend and hope your hired employees extend some respect to our group, which are not trouble makers like some of the low life that shows up there. BTW, the t-shirt is low quality and shrinks badly. Is of no use to us,,,but thanks for pointing out it is included in parking fee. I can see why!
