Prowlin the Caribbean
on the Oasis of the Seas
February 25 - March 3 2012
Tired of the winter already? Let’s be prepared for next winter and plan to take a different kind of cruise…a Prowlin cruise…in the Caribbean! We’ll convene on the largest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean’s beautiful Oasis of the Seas, sailing roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale for seven nights of fun, sun, food, and fellowship. We can rendezvous at Johnny Rocket’s Diner on the Boardwalk, catch the free Broadway production of Hairspray, watch the water and high dive show, ride the Surfrider, attend an ice skating show, or maybe test our skills on the outdoor zip-line suspended on the top deck! There is so much to do on this amazing ship, you may not even get off at the ports!
We’ll depart Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, February 25, cruise on over to Nassau, enjoy a relaxing day at sea, stop at the ports of St. Thomas and St. Maarten, have two more sea days, and then return to Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, March 3.
Our special group rates for this seven-night cruise are:
Ocean View Cabin with Private Balcony (Category D8): $1315 per person
Ocean View Cabin (Category I): $1115 per person
Inside Cabin (Category N): $895 per person
Prices are per person, based on double occupancy, and include port charges; however, the taxes/government fees of $109.18 are additional. Third/fourth persons in a cabin pay less; singles pay more. Air travel can also be arranged. Trip cancellation insurance is optional but highly recommended. NOTE: There are 37 categories of cabins on this ship and you can book any category you desire. Contact our agents for more info.
The cruise price includes your cabin accommodations, all meals, room service, and onboard entertainment, as well as a bottle of wine in your cabin, and $25 per cabin in onboard credit to use as you please. You will only pay additional for personal expenses (i.e. shore excursions), gratuities, insurance, alcoholic beverages, and items of a personal nature.
Cabins at our special group rate must be reserved through Ben & Lynn Catalina, our Prowlin agents. Deposit is $250 per person and is fully refundable if you cancel before December 1, 2011. Cancellations after that date are subject to cruise line and Cruises Inc. penalties.
Got questions? Contact Tom Schinke at 1-262-949-4885 or tom@lylestv.com. For cruise questions and to reserve your space on this beautiful ship, call or email our official agents with Cruises Inc., Ben and Lynn Catalina. See you on the Oasis!

I've been on a lot of these RCI cruises. A good, inexpensive excursion if you want a beach day in St Maarten, they have a great little beach that is only about $7 taxi ride per person, and it's at the end of a St Maarten Airport Runway. Huge jets are landing just a few hundred feet above your head and its quite a thrill. Theres a couple of little beach bars there too.

In Nassau you should definately get a day pass for Atlantis. I think its $80 or so and you can rent jet skis for about $80 an hour and it is just a fantastic time!
You can do St Thomas on the cheap too. It has a cable ride up a mountain so you look down on the cruise dock for great photo ops with your ship in the background.

Thanks Jerry!! :tu: I know those people very well. ;-)
The first one we hosted was in 2003 and almost the exact date of departure in February. If memory serves me, we had at least 24 cabins and over 50 people as well as the largest suite on the ship booked by Mike & Judy Krehel.
Since it is being announced just over a year away, I am hoping everyone can put this on your calendar and plan for it. We definitely will. :tu:
I'll try to locate some photos from those cruises and post.

I've been on 28 of them since 1980, I started out with carnival because they were the cheapest. The food was some of the worst shit you could serve people, They loved it because there was a lot of it. But it is all shit food. I think all the cruise liners buy there shit food from the same vendors.
I can't find a cruise liner that serves great food. everyone I've been on great food eludes them or you can pay $40.00 a meal and eat at a special restaurant on the ship.

BOOKED! As always it was a pleasure talking to Ben, He talked me into getting a aqua view balcony room at a great price, $1,345.00 per person I think. Me and Tommy two tone will be next to each other so we can share our balcony's and watch the shows from our rooms,( BALCONY) There were only so many of these rooms on the whole ship and first to book gets there pick.
Ben did tell me it's only $250.00 per person to book now and can cancel all the way till Dec.1. And if the price go's down from now to then we get a rebate. So if your thinking about it and want one of the aqua view balcony rooms book now and get $25.00 on board credit and some fresh flower.

Never been on Royal Caribbean, but wouldn't mind giving them a try to see if Carnival is really as bad as everyone makes them out to be. In the past I've only sailed Carnival so it would be interesting to compare.

This is my first reply since joining Prowltalk. Thanks to SnoMan for allowing me to join. And just so you know, I am not related to MeanCat, aka the Mayor.
I thought I'd clarify a few things about the Prowlin Cruise.
First, and most important, all bookings have to be made through me to get your Prowler group the credit. Currently this group has $25 in onboard credit and one bottle of wine per cabin. The cost through me is the same as direct through Royal Caribbean, but I am managing this group for you. For the Prowler group, we even waive the standard booking fees.
The special booking incentive that was posted earlier, unfortunately, had a "must complete the cruise by December 31, 2011" restriction that I did not notice before. Since it is my mistake, I will honor that onboard credit offer, up to $100 per cabin, if we get at least 10 "double-occupancy" cabins who book and sail with the group. And regardless of how many book and sail, I will add another bottle of wine for each cabin. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
Why book early? Because you get the best choice of cabin locations on the ship. There is no risk in booking early. Your deposit of $250 per person guarantees that your "cabin fare" will not increase, but sometimes port charges and taxes can change (up or down) but those changes are usually insignificant. Best of all, once you deposit, IF Royal Caribbean ever advertises a lower fare that you qualify for, we get your booked price lowered to match (up until final payment date).
What if you have to cancel later? You get a full refund as long as you cancel by December 1, 2011. Cancellations after that date are subject to the RCCL penalties. That's also why we recommend trip protection insurance, which you don't even have to purchase until Dec. 1.
Sno, MeanCat, and Magnummrk have some excellent balcony cabins reserved, with great views of the Aqua Theater, the Boardwalk, the Rock Climbing Walls, the Zip Line, and even the ocean! Come join them for great views and a fun time!
This ship has THIRTY-SEVEN different categories of cabins and suites, so there is a cabin and a price for anyone's budget. Lots of choices!
Thinkinaboutgoin? Call us and make the deposit now. Then you can relax and think about it some more, knowing that you have a cabin reserved.

Well day2 was great on this 132,000 hp ship that dwarfs anything we park next too. It was formal night and I just climbed out of my tux and now just relaxing. We spent the day at Atlantis where we purchased a day pass. The weather is still nippy so everyone is pissed off but its supposed to get up into the 30s celcius tomorrow. Everyone in my party is having a great time. Over and out for now.

A Grand Suite with nearly 500 sq ft, including the balcony, is $2835 per person.
An Owner's Suite with nearly 800 sq ft including the much larger balcony, is $3414 per person.
A two-story Crown Loft Suite with about 700 sq ft with balcony is $4144 pp.
A two-story Sky Loft Suite with over 1100 sq ft with balcony is $5854 pp.
And...the Presidential Suite with over 1600 sq ft with balcony is only $7304 pp.
Unfortunately the Royal Suite (2100 sq ft) and Royal Loft Suite, with nearly 2400 sq ft are already sold out.
Remember that the 3rd & 4th persons in a cabin pay less. For example, the Presidential Suite holds up to 14 people. Passengers 3 thru 14 pay only $1374 each.
Which one do you want, Jerry?

Jerry, our suite is awesome and can easily host a party of 20 or so. The view is unreal and is panoramic. It starts from the ocean side and goes around the back and then over the aqua theater and then back and touches the rock climbing wall. I will discuss costs with you in a PM. It is alot but it is well worth it! It can sleep up to eight. It has 2 bedrooms. The master has a full bathroom and entrance to the deck with a flat screen and mini bar/ safe. The other bedroom has 2 single beds and 2 wall mouted beds with flatscreen and an adjacent bathroom with a stand up shower. The big livingroom has a big flatscreen and safe with a separate dining area and a pullout double bed. It has 3 different access points to the deck. The deck has a bar, ratan patio furniture with full tables and lounge shaires with padded seats and towels. It's really nice. We are'n't using alot of it because it's just so big! Fresh fruit and chocolate is provided each day
This is day 5 and we are docked in St Maarten. We just got back from Maho beach and it is very hot. It started getting hot in St. Thomas and keeps getting hotter. We are having a blast and will have lots of pictures to share when I get back.

Sounds like BeachCat is in one of the Aqua Theater Suites. There are three different categories, A3 up to A1 and range from 700 to 800 sq ft PLUS huge balconies of 600 to nearly 800 sq ft. They weren't showing as available when I listed suite prices for Jerry. Someone may have had a temporary hold on them, as they are now available. Prices range from about $4400 per person for each of the first two people in the suite. Each additional person (up to 8 people) pays $1100 pp, all plus port charges and taxes. There are only six of these prime suites on the ship. If you want spectacular views and a great party balcony, this is the ultimate.

You only have 3 ports of call so there is alot of "at sea" time. The ship itself can keep you busy but it's nice to have your own private space for groups. We were a group of 6. It is absolutely awesome for watching the performances in the aqua theater. The only drawback of this suite is about a mile walk ( egxageration)along the corridor to the nearest elevator. But just outside our suite door was a "service only" staircase that we used alot when nobody was looking and it gets you down onto the "boardwalk" which is where the carosel and other various eateries are. With this suite you also get access to the restricted concierge dining (great pancakes with real maple syrup, better than the commoners pancakes) along with other stuff like fresh fruit and chocolate in the room. Use of nice housecoats and slippers etc etc etc.

Thanks for sharing the video!!
You are welcome and yes, don't wait too long. I reserved last march and just snagged it in time. Suite 8330 and the adjacent one on the starboard side have the biggest private decks apart from the presidential suite.
Let me know if you want a realistic price on what this vacation cost me. There are alot of things that add up fast!!!! Be prepared because without egxageration, I could have bought another prowler with what I spent. But for me it is a lifetime memory that I wanted to give my wife and kids and a once in a lifetime investment. It's back to smaller ships and staterooms for me now.

Wow,
That video has my gears spinning now..... Having one of those suites would be AWESOME to share with a few people, and we could have our own private parties on that big deck each night!

:tu::tu::tu: That's what I was thinking.
Realistically though, how many people would you want to put up in that room though? Looks like it has 2 singles, and 2 pull downs in the 2nd bedroom, and then I guess a pull out couch or two...
I'm also looking at the huge savings on bar tab by drinking your McMasters on the balcony in the middle of it all.

I think they will allow you to put up to 8 in this suite. 2 in the master, 4 in the second as it has 2 twins and 2 wall mounted twins that fold down and 2 on the pullout in the livingroom. But 6 is more comfortable I think.
For sure bring your own alchohol in your suitcase. Save a lot!

Rick,
I might want to share a room, but I frequently stay out really late, past when the disco closes, then go gamble, and come back to the room drunk off my ass after breakfast....
Usually I have to sleep, or go to sleep with the TV on, but not loud.
Plus I hear that I snore..

Its more of an industrial dock but still nice. I think that is Carnival Dream at the front. They were shadowing us everywhere ( hehehe wanna bees) It is a very big ship also. 150 Central Park is an upscale restaurant onboard. As the name suggests, it is in central park which is an outdoor walkway through a heavily planted area above the promenade. It actually has little birds flying around. The restaurant has a unique concept. You don't order anything. There is only one thing on the menu and that is a 6 or 7 course meal which is very delightful. The menu changes every 3 months when they feature a new and famous chef. The courses are unique and each one is explained by the server. You need to make reservations here. For a couple it will cost you about $100 including a bottle of wine. Highly recommended!

I ask this because some days we will be off the boat and on the islands, the 7th day we get off early in the morning.Just wondering.
You're on the boat every night though Jerry...........party time

The "alcoholic drink" package is new to Royal Caribbean. They have just begun offering it on three ships. If it proves successful (for them and the cruisers!), they will roll it out on the other ships later. The Oasis is not one of the 3 ships currently offering this.
Details may change before you see it on the Oasis, but these are the preliminary details. There are three levels:
$29: "Beer and Wine Package" includes all standard brands, house wine by the glass and a 25 percent discount on other liquors and wines.
$39: "Classic Package" includes beer and wine, but also includes cocktails, and other liquor.
$49: "Connoisseurs Package" is a premium package that offers all the above, but also offers wines by the glass up to $10, and more premium liquors.
Those amounts are per day per person, and you must sign up for 7-days.
I'll let you know when it becomes available for the Oasis and will be glad to add this to the serious drinkers reservation.
By the way, no one has mentioned FOOD in general, but the Oasis has 24 (yes, twenty-four) dining venues. Fifteen of those, including the main dining rooms and buffet, are complimentary. In between drinks, you may want to eat something...

Unofficially speaking....................you can sneak alchohol on board that you buy at the ports of call. Twice I just walked on with mickys of cuzon rum in my pockets. They make it down there and its as cheap as water. I didn't tell you that though hehehe.
bring along your colestomy bags lol

You realize that's $40 per person/ per day right? I guess that's a deal for many. Depends how much you drink.
:rll::rll: When your wife drinks $15 martinis like water this is a deal!

Even at $49/day it's a great deal... Daily bar tabs for just myself on Carnival usually run $150-$200!!

Doesn't sound like you will get it on Oasis though. Maybe change boats?

When you get to nassau, Atlantis is a great place to check out. We stayed there for a week one year and we've been back twice since. I would go back again. You can take a ferry boat ( $4 ) or a taxi ( $5) from the dock
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/zz.jpg
If you get there early, you can buy a day pass for $60 that allows you to go everywhere or you can pay $120 and use all the water attractions
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/zzzzz.JPG
That's my son coming down the slide. It's zero gravity. I did it once the first year but that was enough for me. At the bottom you slide through a glass tube with sharks swimming around you
http://www.prowltalk.com/gallery/data/500/medium/zzz.JPG
The beach is beautiful. If the weather is good ( wasn't the best for us this time) you can rent jet skis and have a blast! You can haggle the jet ski guys down to $80 for an hour and you go out on your own.

This is the bridge suite in the royal towers. $25,000.00 per night. People like Opra, Micheal Jackson etc have stayed in it.

I've been to Atlantis a few years ago, Didn't think much of it. I toured the whole thing and said it would be a long time before I go back.
I had a friend stay there and they were under constriction he said it was real bad. the jack hammers were on at 7:00 am and the front desk would do nothing about it. They were very upset, If they would have gone, they would have stayed else where.

most of the construction is done now and the place is a lot different than a few years ago. I guess its all what you are looking for. I think it's the biggest attraction you will find in Nassau but I can't say that I've travelled much there. I did a bus tour that was............meh

IMHO Nassau is a big shit hole.... Pardon my french, but I call it how I see it.
All the poor people hounding you at the dock, and then the shops right off the ship are all a rip off...
I plan on staying onboard the ship in Nassau..... I have more fun onboard than I do going ashore at most stops. Give or take a few.... St. Martin is one stop that I will definately go to the beach to watch the planes land, and drink...
St. Thomas is cool... But I've been there so many times I might actually try something different than a "tourist trap" this time!!!
Either way it will be fun!

That's what i'm saying. Don't go to nassau, go to paradise island. you will have an abundance of time onboard with this cruise

Please don't think I'm in any way against Atlantis,(I was commenting on what I heard ) I did enjoy the over sized fish tank above and under ground, We did get A free tour of the whole place and spent about 3 hours there before going to the open markets.
I did not use the water park or go down the big water slide. Now with that said, If our boat were to stop there I would go and enjoy the amenity's.this is what you do.
I don't want to start any negative stuff but I been places I didn't like, ( like Pepe's double wide cat infested home) but I still go there. ( once every 7 or 8 years)

Roman, I think Fixumm is still mad at me for telling his wife to buy the $25,000.00 ring instead of the $13,000.00 while on one of the Islands.
I think last time I did this with the prowler group, It was a ball. I did it in 9 days and loved every day of it. I look forward to it and let's see if we can make it to the front of the ship again at midnight.:rll::rll:

Does anyone know what happend to GPS John and his car collection??? I haven't heard from him since the last sea cruise nor have I seen him post on POA.
Also does anyone ever hear from Neal Bardens and his wife who also went on the cruises with us??? He had at least 3 Prowlers that I recall.
I know this guy below. ;-)
