Numbered: All books will be individually numbered! Sorry, no selection of number. Book #1 should go to David for Ebay auction.

Cover Material: You can choose either leather or linen! Keep the leather for yourself and give away the linen versions! :wink:

There were lots of offers to help, so let promote this effort to the other Prowler owners that don't visit this site and see if they are interested in buying one...This may be difficult right now as there is no example to show them , but at least put the word out so that when these come available that we can turn them over quickly...

Good news! We have selected a printer for the photobook! And the best part of it is that we're getting a massive discount that allows us to put in more pages!


Photobook Specifications:

Pages: Planned 48 full-colored pages!!! (We hope to get enough GOOD pictures to fill up these pages)

Size: 11.25" wide and 8.75" high

Printing: Genuine 4-color offset printing with real ink on paper just like any high-quality book or magazine.

Exclusivity: Only advanced orders/reservations can have the flexibility of choosing cover materials and color. So if there's 60 advanced orders, the remaining 40 (we have to order 100 books in a single order) will be numbered and of linen cover, with a color selected by SkanKat.

This is necessary to minimize cost of 'holding' the unreserved books. In addition, it rewards folks who have placed advanced orders with the option of the 'mods'.


Photobook Owner Profiles:

The total pages have been upped more than double to accomodate 2 profile pages for each contributing owner. 8 pages will be reserved exclusively for the montages and writeup.

That said, if you are a contributing owner whose pictures do not meet the minimal expected quality, you might only get one profile page. To avoid missing out on an additional page, start taking pictures and send it in for review!


Photobook Estimated Costs:

SkanKat has worked hard to get the prices as low as possible. It cost ALOT when adding more pages to the photobook due to the high quality professional prints. These are the current estimates for the cost of the photobooks.

Cost of leather book $68.00

Discounted Cost:
Cost of linen book $33.00
Cost of leather book $38.00

Final Cost ($5 donation to ProwlTalk):

Cost of leather book $43.00


Shipping Info:
Due to the cost of the book, we have to ship it insured. No chances to be taken here!

Next Steps:

1. Take more photos! The more the better! The earlier the better! East Coast folks caught in bad weather please contact SkanKat for dateline extensions. Otherwise, you will lose your spot and waitlisted contributors will be promoted. Remember that the photos you take will also make it to the montage pages!

2. Volunteers will be receiving PDFs of the Photobook when its ready in draft form to QA. Local SoCal folks can visit and see actual samples that we have already printed.

3. Start thinking about colors and materials that you want.

4. When you send in pictures to SkanKat, please provide your ProwlTalk screen name and city that will be printed on your profile page.

5. David and Scott will review the costing calculations from the printer to make sure the above numbers are correct.

that's right. the cost is a good estimate, but the final cost really depends on the number of pages we have @ the end of the day.
ideally, as DC had posted, we are planning for a 48-page photobook, but if we don't get enough good pics from everyone, then we'll reduce the number of pages, which also means it'll cost less.

for those who has yet to send in any pics, please do so asap!
the submission dateline may be march 30, but the earlier you send it your pics, i may be able to give you some feedback and also start to work on doing some color correction for the pics.

It's tentatively March 30th.

I am also hoping...like a few...to be granted a slight extension to allow the roads to be washed free of salt.

correct..but keep in mind just cause A name is on the contributor list it dosen't mean we have their photos or the legal release YET... In any case I'm just try to move this deal forward since we are getting close to dead-line... as i said we need to pre-sell and get pre-paid 90% ...
