I bought my KAT at 35,000 and the front tires are almost bald. Especially the one on the driver side. Just wondering if this was Normal Wear or probably due to Excessive Use since I just Found NOS Installed in my Kat today! LOL

Not all that much thread on those run-flats. Got my Kat with 9100 miles on it two years ago & replaced them in the spring of this year. Very good ride improvement with regular tires. Certainly worth the investment.

By the way, Xiao: you had the alignment checked?

52,000 miles on the Factory Run Flats... Keep tire pressure correct and check them before you drive it, will make them last a long time... Replaced with Factory Runflats and the car should go to 100,00 with them... onecatnodog

If you're getting uneven ware because of the nitrous why don't you rotate them front to rear. Several people here have done that.

Agree. I do that and have got 48K on them. When my Nitrous goes from wet to dry,,is when I rotate them over.

Might call for another survey.

On a more serious note. We still are running the original fronts at 41K and just replaced the rears at 40 however they are not worn out but getting close to the integral tread depth gauge.

Good call Dixie on replacement... I replaced my tires before the Deadwood event, even though I could have put another 5,000 miles on them.. Didn't want to be far away from home and have to drive the Prowler maybe in some rain with not much tread left... I have the car alighment done once a year and keep close eyes on the tire pressure... Safety first.... I will add a helpful tip... You may check the front shocks as if you have the General Dynamics they could be out of fluid from leaking causing front tire ware problems... If you have the Koni's you should be fine... John(onecatnodog)

I see you were lucky enough to get one of those front wheel drive prowlers. Very rare indeed!:tu::tu::tu::tu:

haha ya not sure what the rotation means as obviously there is tire difference. I called the owner this morning and he mentioned that the roads in Montana is a lot more rough than California Roads. Not sure if its believable after such a surprising discovery but has anyone driven through Montana or are from there?

I have but it was on my motorcycle, But i'll say this the roads in Chicago, Illinois are the worst.

THAT IS strange for sure - don't know what the previous owner did with those front tires but ours have over 35.000 miles on it and they look like new - almost NO wear on them :tu:

Mine had 11k on it when i got it. i'll turn over 33k next week. rears need replacing, very little tread left. At around 15-18k i had uneven wear on fronts and had them rotated and chekd alignment. they're wearing nicely now and i expect i'll get another 15k on the fronts, at least another 10. Someone who sounded authoritative said ya should get about 45k on a set of runflats. if thats a good rule of thumb, i think the previous two owners were leaving more rubber on the pavement.
