DC has convinced me that my car will remain a POS that is unworthy of hanging out anywhere near one of his Kats until I install one of Jay's SSS exhaust systems.

So, anybody have one up in the rafters that they never got around to installing?

Please let me know soon as I'm gonna hold my breath until I find one . . . . . anybody? anybody? (thump)

I know a guy that has an exhaust system but not sure if it's a Borla or the SSS or Both.

I sent him an email and I'll let you know when I hear back.

Scott,

If you don't have any luck getting the SSS, I can help you mod the stock muffler to sound awesome....did it on mine and like it better than the Borla I used to have....

Thanks Jim! I saw your "how-to" and worried that I'd probably end up screwing that up somehow. I have some time off coming up in a week or so. Maybe I can screw up enough courage to give it a try. I'll revisit your write-up and probably get back to you with a million questions:lol: In fact . . .did you just modify the muffler? Or, are you running headers off it too?

As always, thanks for the kind offer and the advice. You're a class act!

No Prob Scott,

the mod is just to the muffler. I do not have headers.... yet...lol

my tips are the borla and are not baffeled, the stock tips do have baffels and should be removed to get that great sound. I originaly ran my system totally stock and removed the tip baffels..... they sounded great and didn't "jet" like the stock system sounded. Removing the tip baffels is easy and i can help if you want to go for it..

Fortunately, I'm running a Carlini Pan right now with no baffles at all. I am considering, though, switching over to the Tom Mills pan and hitch he's in the process of fabricating right now. The way you describe it, it sounds like it is just R&R the muffler. I'll let you know how it goes!:bows

Scott,
Sorry to say the SSS has been sold. He does have a Borla system sitting in a box though.

If my Borla system does crap out, I'm going to experiment with a few ideas that are bouncing around my head.

Happy Prowlin,
Paul.

Thanks for checking, Paul! I really want to hold out for the SSS, even though I know it will probably never materialize. In the meantime, I'm going to try Jim's mod on the stocker and see how it works.

You will be happy with your stock mod...just remember to get someone to hold the muffler when you are drilling the baffels and watch out for the drill to fetch up as the holesaw just goes through....
the 1/2"drill has lots of torque and will twist your wrist or thumb when it catches....Do not lock the drill trigger on when drilling !!!....also get a magnetic wand for fishing out the drilled coupons....

good luck... enjoy the Zoom Zoom !

Thanks! I love these tiles and, believe it or not, they're also the very cheapest I could find.

The tiles are made in China. And, even though they are only half the thickness (5/16") of any other floor tile on the market, they are proving to be very durable. They have the raised quarter texture molded into them so they look just as good as the expensive ones. You can get them through Sam's Club online and they'll ship them to you via UPS. They come in White, Blue, Gray, Black, Yellow, Red and Orange. They also stock them in just the gray and black colors at most Sams Club locations if you want to pick them up and save the shipping costs.

And, the best part is, they only cost $55.92 for a box of 40 tiles! Unless you have a Mulholland, you can design your floor in the same color as your kat!

Thanks for the info. We had the commercial vinyl black & white squares installed before we moved in our new home. We may have to add some "yellow" to it now!8-)

Thanks again.

Scott, yes hold off if you can. I've put my SSS up side by side a Borla while in Marco Island for a Prowler function and the Borla owner got pissed when they heard the difference, everyone there including the Borla agreed that the SSS was a better sound (I won't say who it was but she can post if she likes ;))
