If I have been reading correctly..... Was Orange only produced in 2001 and the only colors in 2002 were yellow, gold and candy red?
Also, if I were to do a two-tone with a Prowler, does that hurt it's valvue of the car? Or is it just a personal choice.
Were all the changes and upgrades made from 1997, complete by mid year 2000 with no other improvements made after for the 2001 and 2002 except colors?
Thanks, want to make sure I'm getting it correct.

There were also somewhere just shy of 100 silvers in 2002 model year and 1 - High Voltage Blue, the last Prowler off the assembly line.

Color is certainly a personal choice. If you are goung to mod your car anyway and drive it quite a bit, paint it any color you like. If you plan to park it most of the time and want to get most $$$ later, leave it stock color. I'd choose the prior - have fun and enjoy!!

It is to you, right???

Of course, there are so many cars with your color combo that must mean some people like it and might be willing not to deduct $$$ because you changed it from stock.

In my case, since mine was almost stock when I sold it I got high $$$ for mine!

What's so funny? OK, most of the body panels were either removed, painted, or modded; but the gas cap lid was stock for sure.

and the wipers were never modded either! (unless you count removed!?!?)

Geno - Actually I modded the wiper stems twice and I routed the wiper washer hoses with extensions and wiretired them to the frame rails so they would create a puddle just in front of the rears wheels. A little bleach in the washer tank and then a big white cloud!

OK - sorry to have high jacked the color thread. My point is to do what you want to with your Prowler unless you just intend to cruise every now and then and then sell it without losing much value. Most of time modifications add little if any value to the car when you resell it unless you can easily remove and sell them on ntheri own like trailers, hardtops, etc.

Plan on keeping and have fun driving it. If I was to two tone, I'll most likely go with silver because of the possible number of different colors that could be used with silver
Also, I heard most of he improvements were done by mid 2000, is that correct and how would I know if a 2000 was done, run the Vin or something?

Yes - all major upgrades were done by 2000 model year. 2000 and newera ll have black bumpers - 97 and 99 have gray.

I believe the tranny converter upgrade was done in 2001?

Downgrade in 2001 also,,,,going to Suspension Dynamic front shocks, but later went back to Koni shocks.

And crappy Dynamic Suspension rear shocks too.

Don't quite get this.... do you mean in 2001 the suspension was changed at the beginning of the year and then say mid-year it was changed back. is that correct?
So then a 2002 has the good suspension.

Nope, the Factory used the crappy (make that CHEAP) Dynamic Suspension front and rear shocks on all the 01's and 02's and I believe some of the late-production 00's. This was primarily a cost cutting effort for Chrysler/Plymouth. However after a LOT of premature shock failure (leaking) the Factory went back to Koni's for replacement shocks. Of course, this was after they had used up all the inventory of Dyanamic Suspension shocks.
The whole point of the shock change to Dynamic Suspension was SUPPOSED to be for a softer ride. But I believe it was just a cost cutting measure for Chrysler/Plymouth.

So I guess I will be replacing the shocks sometime down the road.

Next time you are under your car, look at the bottom of the Front Crossmember, where the Front Shocks go into it. If they leak, you'll notice clear hydraulic oil dripping from the crossmember access holes. On the Rear Shocks, look for staining on the rear Drive Axles, between the dust boots. That is easily seen if the Rears are leaking.

Where in Illinois are you? Happy to assist you any way I can! I am a purist, as opposed to "modder" ... but ultimately, you need to do what YOU like, and not listen to all the "noise" ... enjoy the car!:tu:
