FYI, and no disrespect implied,,,,,,,,,,,,,,those Advance Auto Parts hood struts 4032 are the exact same struts as the OEM version. They are made by Avin-Meritor Corp (automotive parts suppliers to the manufacturers, and to auto parts stores),,,,,,and they are total crap!
(The same company that made the OEM Prowler window regulators > that should tell you something)
Carquest/NAPA/and many other car parts stores carry them under their own special names, but they are built and supplied by Arvin-Meritor to them. Usually, somewhere on the packaging in small print,,,,you can read that info.
Those Arvin-Meritor hood struts are under pressurized for the Prowler application,,,,and will fail within a year or two for sure. Also, most are packaged wrong,,,,meaning the struts are hanging in the wrong direction during storage,,,,thus speeding up the failure time due to leaks at the seal base.
Buy the ones from :bows LST, excellent quality and durability, and be done with it.

If you have a garage queen and hardly ever drive it or open the hood,,,,,the crapola struts will be ok for you,,,,,,,,,,,but remember your head and fingers whenever you do open the hood for service, as someday the hood will come down when you least expect it to :eek2::mad:

No reason for that Jim, Larry is just telling what works and what don't, those OEM $20 shocks will not last much more than a year trust me I replaced mine every year until I got the LST ones. Another advantage to the LST is the hood opens like 5" more which makes a big difference.

The only one worth buying http://www.lstechnologies.ca/ JMHO
my 2 cents worth on this one - just like the crappy Prowler window regulators, or tire pressure sensors, you can buy the OEM parts over and over and over again (IF you can still get them) and they will fail you again and again and again.
So for ME if I can get a better quality aftermarket part that's the way to go for me :tu:
