Can we get a cheaper room? I don't give 2 shits about the room, I'm not in it enough to care.

That's classified so the venue won't be 'borrowed' (or stolen) by another site ;-)

My criteria.....CLEAN....lots of pillows....fridge....big parking lot....good a/c (conditioning....not cat) and mini fridge! :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Course, my opinion may not matter at all, cause depending on the dates, we may not be able to attend.... Bad travel year for Marty in 2012.:cry2:

Quality inns are usually good, but any of the bottom three would work.

as long as its closer than the Upper Pennisula of Michigan and not the last week of June or first three weeks of July of in 2012, we'll try to be there. Have a good parking lot, rooms under $100, and some decent roads to cruise.

What Marty said...........

Under $100 a night, less is even better as long as its a free breakfast, coffee pot in room,,,smoking rooms available,,,,,nice, large, lighted, secure parking lot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and no freaking bed bugs!!!!!!!!! :eek:

I nominate Marty to be the person to negotiate the hotel choice.....he knows how to get a much better rate at the nicer hotels. The economy is crap,,,vacation travel is way down,,,if a higher end hotel wants the business in this down economy,,,,they will deal a great price to get the business.

$85 and $89 for a SleepInn or Quality Inn is about their normal, single night stay in their hotels. Doesn't look like any savings to me for a large group of people for several days.
JMO

If you rough out what was spent at the Lodge in Deadwood for the rooms, meals bought in their restaurants, alcohol, gambling by some, and taxes collected,,,,,,,,we brought in to that hotel appox. $85,000 for the week, and that is probably a conservative figure. When you factor in the dollars spent for gasoline, entrance fees to other venues, food, entertainment, soveigner gifts, needed personal items, etc..... I would think we brought into the Deadwood regional area about $150,000 in added business for the week.

** Bargain with the power of dollars being brought in to the hotel and surrounding area!

Our vote is Quality Inn for 2012, and willing to go Doubletree depending on the location...location...location.
We look forward to meeting folks at the Day's Inn at St. Ignace in June, 2011!!!
Happy Holidays to all!

As long as there are no known incidences of bed bugs then we're good as I always carry my own Lysol regardless of their star rating.

How about $99 a night for an all suite place with breakfast?

Hot breakfast or donuts and stale cereal? ;-) Seriously, under $100 and clean with good parking lot and nice cruising roads in the areas would be great! :tu:
