I went out yesterday and installed the Tom Mills Bumperless Rear Panel on Hellkat... I gotta say I'm very pleased with the results. This is an awesome Mod for the $. it fit great.... (a little trimming was required around the back up lights). I did it in my garage but had to leave the door open so as i can get the room around the back end...... it was -26 degrees out with the windchill and took me 5 hours from start to finish.
I'll post a couple of better pictures later when the light gets better....

JIm, very, very nice. We had fun also when we did ours. By the way, have you ever thought of putting a clear coat on you rear mud flaps.I think they would blend in nice with a dark color kat. Just a thought.

Thanks,

I have a brand new set of front & back flaps that Travis is going to paint black for me. I think the fronts will only have to be used at shows , i'm afraid they will crack...

Jim / Your more ambitious than I am, I have a wonder bar in my garage for the last two months. I thought it was to cold to work on it. May be this will give me the incentive. Your car looks great.:tu:

First Class, Jim, as always. What a great look. Nice installation, too.

But, man, Negative Degrees? I was bitchin' about this weekend when it dropped below 72!

Thank you for all the compliments ....

Joyride, I've always thought I should buy a wonderbar because of the roads we have to drive on ( Especially the one from Amherst to Moncton )...could you let me know how the install goes ? If its not a big job then maybe I can do it myself.

Scot, I could have waited untill it got hot out, around -15, but am restricted to getting my Kat work done to the weekends.... and there is only 10 left before I'm back on the road....

The flamed skull will be going on the trunk.. Travis wants to do something with the flames trailing down the deck lid... no arguement from me.

Jim,
The wonder bar is not hard to install, takes about 1/2 hr or so. Just have an extra set of hands there when the nose panel needs to be pushed over to remove and re-install the mounts to the frame. It can be done alone but you will mumble a few four letter words in the process, lol.

The wonder bar was the first thing I did to my kat. Makes a huge difference in how the Prowler tracks around bumpy corners and it reduces the shock of bumps when one tire hits and the other doesn't. Don't expect it to ride like a Caddy but it does make a difference.

Oh yeah, the roll pan looks great! Question, are you going to shorten the tailpipes?

Thanks for the info Paul..

I'll have to put it on my list... our roads here can be pretty rough because of the constant freeze / thaw cycles .....I always worried about extra stress being put on the shocks but Larry Lord tells me its not a problem so it sounds like a worthwhile mod.

I'm going to leave the exhaust tips as they are for now.... maybe change them with the shorter carbon fiber tips later. I kinda like the look of the long ones... we'll see....

Jimbo: Scott did a DIY on the Wonder Bar last year. I got mine done at the dealership since I was doing some warranty work.

No hurry on the bumpers etc. Still hoping to make the Fall trip :tu:
