How do you go about choosing a restaurant?

I've ALWAYS been frugal, ergo I refuse to pay a lot for any restaurant meal. So, that is first consideration--price must be reasonable! After that, is it the type of food I like? And lastly, is there a vegan/vegetarian selection--for me? OK? OK! :tu:

Price and taste. No fast food here. Its usually mexican.

If we are on the bike traveling we try and eat at the local flavors, no chains. Price is never a big deal. It is always fun finding a place that unique to the area that has good food.

Normally based on cuisine type, then service, ambiance, etc.
Plus if they have a bar.
