Good question just click Your entry (http://www.prowltalk.com/vbforums/vbgooglemapme.php?do=addelement) then zoom in to your spot - once you are zoomed in then just lick the map to place a pin. If you screw up just click again

then enter a title and click submit

This is what it tells me:

Your marker title could not be added into the database because one or more fields blank were left blank. Please make sure you have enter all required information.


So, What do I type in the fields?

I typed in my name, Halicat and community name, East Jeddore...

I got it but I typed Kruisin Kat in all(?) the fields.

one of them put in you city location...

If you don't like it, then you can delete it and start over..

to add the image it will have to be avatar size, I couldn't get a full size to take.

Jim, we just loaded a picture and it automatically re-sized it. mrs pumpkin's image was a 300 x 185 and pumpkin's image was 480 x 281 and now they both look to be similar in size.Hope this helps.

I tried a large one the first time and got the red X, I see Piddler has the Red X as well.....
the first one I tried was off the home computer but the one that tool was a photobucket avatar picture...
I think i fiddle with it and see what happens,

Jim lets say i wanted to use one of your viper thumbnails
Right click the thumbnail you want to use and choose properties then copy the location

And paste it in to the picture field in the map

I changed yours to the image linked above - the default size is 185 pixels by 111 apparently

I went ahead and resized one of the viper pics to 185x111 and posted it here

and added it to my entry as a test

Updated the About information to include help on adding a picture

It appears that the map will resize the picture for you so you should be able to use almost any size

I had tried that method earlier with the "random pictures" on top of prowltalk when mine came up, but that didn't work too good. :confused:

You need to make sure you are using the URL of the actual picture
The line should end in .jpg for example

I edited yours to fix it

I'm on the St. Johns River but about a 1/4 mile north of where the pin on the map is planted. It is beautiful, tonight, ( the 4th) were surrounded by fireworks on the horizon, from Jacksonville to the North and Palatka just up river.

I cant see any pins on any zoom level. I can see my own whwn I go into "your entry". no not matter who i click on i cannt get any info and just in the map view I dont get anything.

Does this for me on my laptop and this brand new freshly formatted PC. Been up only about 20 minutes.
