Agree with Dave... that 55 trailer must have started out as a Prowler trailer. Looks great.

a moment off silence is required.

There was a company at the 2004 SEMA show that made trailers to match the rear end of the vehicles. They had several models showing then,,,and I'd suspect they could make just about anything wanted by a customer.

Brian - thanks for the pictures! How come your Kat wasn't there???

Dave I agree, that trailer sure looks like it was once a Prowler trailer. If not, the company that made it could certainly make the Prowler trailer copies to perfection I bet.

Yep...look up at the top of the trucks cab for the 3rd brake light in addition to the recessed lights in the rear bumper. He did the same to the front bumper with Prowler front bumperette lights.

Toolhead...my kat is far from entering this 5 star ISCA show. Especially since my kat still hasn't got the small spot repaired where that Infinity backed into the side of me.:x In addition to the flaking rear rims.

Nomad finds a home
By Max Bowen
Thursday, January 04, 2007 - Updated: 02:58 PM EST

When Chevrolet first unveiled the Nomad in 1955, its makers unlikely envisioned it sporting a DVD player and surround sound system. But under Rick Brine’s watchful eye, this rare antique wagon has been transformed into a real showstopper.
Brine’s Nomad, nicknamed the Phantom Delivery due to the fact that it’s the only one of its kind, will be one of 350 vehicles on display at the 33rd annual Town Fair Tire World of Wheels show at the Bayside Expo Center in Boston, which begins today (Friday) and runs through Sunday.
Brine built the car from the ground up over the course of six years with the help of his friend Bob Lundell of Hanson. Many others helped him to craft the Nomad’s unique interior and exterior.
“A lot of people are into the older cars because it brings you back to the simpler days,” said Brine of Rockland, who owns and operates Creative Graphics, an automotive graphics and truck lettering company. “You think about the good old days.”
Brine’s car brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “tricked out.” In the back is a DVD player and Alpine 10-speaker 1,000-watt surround sound system. In front is a navigation system.
The interior is all leather and looks brand new. The exterior is fully customized, from the airbrushed pinstripes and purple flame designs to the grill, wheels and exhaust. Attached to the rear is a Plymouth Prowler trailer, which Brine uses to stow his gear for shows.
The Phantom Delivery has an Air Ride system, which can lower the car’s body for shows, or raise it when Brine feels like going for a ride. When the 350-cubic inch Corvette motor starts up, make sure to cover your ears.
“The Nomad is a sports wagon, very few made,” said Brine, who has been a car fan for the past 20 years, and even worked as a researcher at a museum in California. “It was one of the most popular years for cars.”
Attached to the top is a surfboard, and Brine chuckles when he admits most of his surfing is done with an Internet connection.
“It just fit the whole car,” said Brine. “I had to put it there as a package.”
Over the past four years, Brine has taken first place at dozens of car shows from the Bay State Antique Auto Club in 2000, where he took Best of Show out of 1,285 other cars to the Super Wheels Top 100 Showdown in 2003.
The Nomad has been all across New England, from North Carolina to Maine. Brine prefers going to Cruise Nights, which are held on almost a weekly basis, saying the focus is more on the drivers than their vehicles.
“It’s more about the fun of the car and talking to the people,” said Brine, who is also working on restoring a 1967 El Camino to its original look, complete with the dealer sticker.
Brine keeps a record of the shows he has been to and the awards won in the event he ever decides to sell the Nomad. In 2002, it was appraised at $130,000.
The Nomad, a two-door station wagon, was made from 1955-1957. Only 8,000 were made, although parts can still be found for it. Brine found his in a barn on Cape Cod where it had sat for 14 years. The vehicle was completely rusted out, and had to be rebuilt from the tires up.
The car is considered to be a mild custom, since no physical alterations were made to the body. Brine said the paint job helps demonstrate his skill at automotive graphics. He has done work for such well-known companies as Penske, Rider and Clean Harbors. His business cards proudly feature the custom car in full color.
“The phantom indicates it doesn’t exist,” said Brine. “It’s a car that is dreamed about but never made, so I made it.”
