Bob Nardelli has resigned as chairman and chief executive of Atlanta-based Home Depot Inc., the company announced today.

I'd screw up too knowing I'd get this "package" when I departed!! Do you think some of those former Daimler Chrysler execs asked to retire fared as well? Don't think so!

I wonder if the share holders at Home Depot approve of this package? I thought part of their problem with this CEO was his compensation package.

...I will never set foot in a Home Depot, EVER.....never have, never will....a couple of years ago they sued me for a bad debt....only problem, I had never been in their store, EVER....they called everyday, after I learned the guy they were looking for lived in a different part of the state than me I tried to be nice and go thru the entire story each time....I was verbally harrassed by their debt collectors every evening about 6pm...after several calls I called their corporate headquarters and was told they really couldn't do anything about it because the receiveables had been sold to several collection agencys and they didn't know how to stop the calls either...you can't file harrassment charges against the home company, because they are not the ones calling and the collection agencys seemed to change every few days....the last guy finally asked what amount I would settle the debt for (it was originally $1300)...I told him I wouldn't send them $13 dollars even if they kissed my ass in the Home Depot parking lot....after about 15-20 calls, they finally gave up....maybe someone, SOMEWHERE finally figured out THEY HAD THE WRONG GUY ...shit for brains

When the Home Depot was built here, my company received the contract for all the soils and concrete testing during construction. When we showed up on the job we were told we had been replaced. It seems that someone at "Corporate" had a relative in the same business and they brought his company in from out of town at twice the price we quoted. I have never been there either.

Tangled - I'm surprised you couldn't sue HD. That collection company was working under contract for them and hence was acting as their "agent," which makes HD liable for the actions of their "agent."

I can't stand HD - their stores are always unorganized with products in the wrong bins and stuff scattered on the floor. And trying to find someone to help is impossible.

I much prefer Lowes or a local hardware store near my house.
