I like both, but we have had cats ever since the first stray walked up to the door.
I'd love to have a dog for the yard but we're gone a lot and don't have anybody to take care of it while we're gone.
Cats are a lot easier to keep.

Nothing, I don't need dog hair or cat hair all over my house,car and cloth. I feel good hair free.
