I'm Sick of "Inherited"

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush, blah blah blah. Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense.




So once more, I'll try a short civics lesson.






Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.






And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.






Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:








If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.




In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

Isnt it interesting how when Regan inherited 23% interest rates, gasoline shortages, the Iran hostage Crisis, unemployment in the 14% range that he never ONCE blamed carter who was responsible for it?
No, like a true leader, he took it on, reduced taxes, reduced debt, got the hostages out, took down the soviet union with a velvet fist, dropped unemployment and still gets left out on the short list of great presidents.
OBAMA on the other hand did inherit some debt, but he also inherited a 5% unemployment rate and shortly after DOUBLED it, and in some places, like Detroit, the rate tops 17%.

People need to remember, with the problems that OBAMA says he inherited, he also inherited the SOLUTIONS.

Obama has extended the BUSH tax cuts, he has extended the BUSH capital gains exemptions, he has taken credit for the stimulus package bringing back some of the economy, but isnt it convenient that TARP and the stimulus happened BEFORE OBAMA GOT IN TO OFFICE, hes taking credit for what BUSH started. Didnt bush go before the senate finance committe not once, not twice not three but FOUR TIMES and warned barney frank about fannie and freddie? yes, that stupid uninformed BUSH did that, well before the banking and finance committees began demanding that fair lending act rules that had NOT been enforced since the time Jimmy Carter was in office( the committee stopped enforcing them due to 20% interest rates to slow inflation)be pushed back to make loans to people who had upside down income to expenditure ratios.

The obama administration is asking for an UNPRECIDENTED THIRD raising of the debt ceiling. If they spend too much, just raise how much debt is allowable. Does anyone realize that the FACT is that this current administration has doubled the debt owed by this country more than the COMBINED debt of the USA from 1786-2009? Think about that, over 200 years of organized government and this guy has spent more money and accrued more debt that every presidential administration that came before him including the combined costs of WWI, WWII, korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Katrina and Andrew. Think about that for a moment.

Do people understand that the debt service accrued is so fragile, that if China or Russia sat out just 2 days of buying our debt bonds, the dollar would collapse? Why? well the amount of debt they buy on a daily basis is accruing interest. If every single circulating dollar on the planet was brought in, it would not cover 2 days of debt purchase by china. good thing Obama just pissed them off and they cut off military ties last week with a quiet under the table deal with Taiwan huh?

Obama claims to have compassion for africa, but bush outcontributed ANY president in the modern era in money and support for AIDS research, malaria prevention and agriculture support.

The obama administration wants to raise capital and control energy costs with cap and trade, but do you know who actually wrote, negotiated and signed the largest single energy bill in amount of dollar income and natural gas trade in northern hemisphere history? take a guess/././ Little ol Sarah palin. Yep, believe it or not, she negotiated a natural gas/oil agreement that has brought the cost of natural gas down and brought more income in to alaska and the US than any other person in history. not bad for a pitbull in lipstick huh? Why cant this admin do that?

Didnt Bush, start rotating troops out of IRAQ and begin by turning over baghdad, mosul and Tikrit and other cities to the IRAQI security forces?
How is it possible for OBAMA to take credit for this when it happened before his INAGURATION?
Simple, people (in the words of rahm emmanuel) are fucking retards. No one pays attention to any of the FACTS here. If the obama people just say it enough, it must be true. Stop being lemmings people for the love of Regan please.
