It is a very sad situation for everyone there and for anyone with family or friends who have been affected by this devastation.
I do have to wonder with everything I'm reading if this is not going to turn into another "Katrina" fiasco?
Let us all hope not!!

Billions have been poured into that little country over the past decade and arguably with no improvement whatsoever. They essentially live on handouts from the rest of the world. Not likely to get much better now.

Looks like the reponse is quicker than Katrina. Main problem
is getting the supplies to the people. Sad, sad little speck of
a country.
I have to agree with Ed regarding pouring all that money into
the place with no improvement.

Many there keep asking for $$$.
IMO,,,bury the dead,,,provide water, food, and medical aid. Stop U.S. taxpayer dollars as hand-outs, and bring our support citizens home,,,,,,and let Oprah, Geo. Soros', Al Gore, Barbs Streisand, Tiger, and all of the other billionaire movie stars contribute their money to rebuild that country. Isn't going to matter,,,they will still live like third world country animals there > no imagination, no drive to succeed, no concerns to improve their living standards. Just make babies and take hand-outs. Not my dollar...................
We can't take care of the entire world,,while many of our own citizens suffer.
Yup,,,I see another Katrina. Stop the BS.

It's a shame that the people starve but they have a palace 2 times as large as the white house.
I would tend to believe corruption is halting any progress that could ar might be made there any time soon!
