Santa came early and left me a couple of cool mods.

You probably have heard of these but you have to see them in person to appreciate the thick, heavy, and sewn quality of these boot covers.

They are an excellent fit and a snap to install! LOL... drop those backing nuts down the interior panel and you'll be screwing like crazy to get to them.

My 15 min. installation job turned into an hour marathon chasing hardware! Butter fingers...

For more information contact Steve Rusnock email: ersfr@scml.us

OK, A trip to FAQ, and a little brain power and I have photos!

I really like this mod....

I don't know how many times I've looked at the car with the top down and thought that area looked unfinished.... these boots make a huge difference in the top down look..

great mod steve.....!

Thanks for the kind words. I have a question? I am trying to decide if I should make up 30-50 pairs before spring. If I wait until spring to need them my upholsterer will not be able to meet this demand. He gets REAL busy in the spring and early summer with boats and autos work. I don't want to order them and the product sits on the shelf for an indefenant period of time. Problem is I have to order them now in order to have them for spring. So I am asking the ProwlTalk community how many are interested in purchasing come spring. Steve

From the above picture,,,,and the ones Norm sent to me,,,,,,they are well worth the money. I have a set,,,,,waiting for a warm, sunny day to install. Cold, damp, miserable weather here on my days off have prevented me from getting off my butt to install them,,,,,,but I hope to soon. Jimbo is right,,,,,this mod will improve the unsightly look that shows when the top is down.

Gold Rush - If I was you,,,,,I'd go with 25 more sets for now,,,and keep pushing them on both websites. Don't bury yourself in a large chunk of money fronted out, and then get stuck. jmo

Warmed up today,,,,so I got out the drill and screwdriver and went to work on the boot covers. Sweet deal,,,,,30 minutes to install both,,,took my time.

I took pictures,,,,but the ones above pretty much show the outcome.

I really think they improve the appearance of the car with the top down.

Thanks again Steve,,,,,,,in February, at our large Prowler Day event,,,,I'll show them off to the others and hope to sell some for you.

Great job thinking up this mod,,,,and having them made for the owners!!

I'm still kinda reluctant about drilling into the plastic.

How well did you guys say that the Velcro holds? Are they still available with snaps and/or Velcro?

Thanks!

Brian,

Drill it.... when the boots aren't on you don't even notice the snaps because what you notice is the big hole that the boots cover. If you use the velcro, you will have to rough up the plastic with sandpaper to get the velcro to stick....also with the snaps, the boot goes on straight everytime........

Brian - Hali is right,,,,,,,,you only drill a total of four holes for the snaps,,,as two holes are already in position for the cover = 6 snaps total.

Use a very small bit for the pilot holes,,,,,very simple and easy. You'll never notice the two side snaps anyway,,,,,because the seat back is reclined into driving position. Give it a shot,,,,,Steve wants the business!

I bought the boots but have not had the time to install them. I can say they do appear to be very high quality and I have no doubts they'll fit fine.

:nana2 For those of you who REALLY want the boots made with Velcro. I will make them up special for you. However, the price is 110.00. This is due to the extra labor in sewing the Velcro to the boot. But remember I don't guarentee your satisfation with the Velcro version, because eventually the adhesive backing will fail. If your interested then place your order soon, as I am ready to make up several. Thanks for your interest. Steve
