well.. it worked great once....

I suppose we shoud keep a thread ongoing for the guys that are just joining and the ones what will be looking to buy a hardtop in March....

10% off list price is offered when we get together and purchase a minimum of 6 units....

I'll be the go between between TGF and the group...

post some intentions if you in or even thinking about being in and we will work on it from there...
The transaction last time went smooth as silk...

it appears we have 6 confirmed.... anyone wanting in .... get in, or miss out... deadline is Feb. 10th

TOOLHEAD

Mine was around $3,200 with shipping two years ago, but hopefully Jim can get a "deal."

halicat
01-08-2007, 03:02 AM
the cost is:

$2377.62 unpainted
$2797.20 painted

the 10% discount has already been applied to these prices
shipping is extra... count on between $200-225 for shipping depending on where you are.

I have the order forms that I will email everyone when we get 6 for sures..

so right now that gives us:

Scott--- 4 sure
Mkat---- 4 sure
Rozt99-- 4 sure
Krzy---- maybe
Pepe--- maybe

all we need is one more 4 sure, and to convert the maybe's then its a go...

spread the word, when we get our 6, I will email everyone the forms to fill out and send to TGF.

I'm also a maybe. It really depends on the time frame of when you will need the money. I'm trying to sell my 2000 Skyline R34 GTR. I had it sold but the buyer backed out yesterday. It sold in 3 days last time so I think it should sell quickly again. But if you need the money next week then I doubt I can get it. Let me know the time frame of when you think you will need the money by. Is there a deposit involved or do we give the entire amount up front?

Thanks,
Adam

Welcome Adam...

Great to see you here on the site... you will enjoy it here.

this Purchase was originally going to be in March and I think everyone is cool with that...You will have lots of time to sell your car. I organized the last one and it went very well so there is no reason that this one shouldn't either.
Once everyone is ready I will email out the TGF order forms to each person. You fill the forms out and fax them to TGF. Nani will take your credit card information to do a pre-authorization. They do not charge your card untill they are ready to ship the top.

you can get a gray headliner or black, if you want them to paint the top , you will have to send them the gas cover door so they can match the color.

Thats it ...

Hey Jimbo,

There's Mikal, DooBoy, and 1/4 Mile Prowler on the other side who are looking for hardtops (Unless Mkat, are you also Mikal?)

But, that might get us a couple of more if we can drag them over here. I'll PM them and see what's up.:tu:

I wouldn't PM them, I'd start a thread that say's "The other Side is doing another hard-top group purchase for all those interested - just an FYI"

Maybe find some new people

Hey - as much as I really want to get one now, I don't think I'm going to. I've got a baby on the way and well you can guess the rest :)

Not giving up my prowler, but I'll have to start watching my money a litle closer now ;)

Did anyone notice two people posted replies today, on the other site, they are interested in hardtops. Maybe we can get them to come over.

halicat
02-02-2007, 09:45 AM
I've seen that....

Steve, Gldrush has posted on both sites his intentions to get in on the deal as has a couple of others...which is fine... the interesting thing is that I think all together there are 6 people committed to buy a top. 2 of them on the other site are aware of us here, but have not registered at Prowltalk, maybe they are loyal POA'ers and don't want to lose status there by joining our site.....who knows...

If we don't get our 6 yeppers by next week, I will see what i can do with the ones we do have....leave it with me...

good news... I have found the 6th person to buy a top...

anyone on the fence for this should speak up now and get added to the group buy list. the last buy we ended up with 9 in total.

I will leave this open to add any new people until Saturday night.

All those that for sure they want one, please email me at home fourdunbracks@eastlink.ca . give me your full name and an email address that you would like the TGF order form to be sent to and I will attach it to my reply to you. You will then be responsible to fill it out and complete the transaction with Nani at TGF. She expects all orders to be filled in 6-8 weeks.... just in time for spring ! If there is anything else you wish to get from TGF, they don't offer a discount on ones and twos but you can save some $ in shipping sending everything all at once.

please note: I do not get my emails at home until around 6pm eastern time.

You guys ROCK !!!!!

I had an email from Mike Williams wanting to get in on the group buy for hardtops to which I replied to last night with all the information and the order form.

Now I see today he has started a request for his own group buy and is looking for 2 more people.....When we had six without him...

If any of you know what is up with this...please inform me....

I only want you guys that want tops, to get them...

Everything is cool...

Mike emailed me and was doing exactly the same thing I was....
helping out his friends.... :tu:

If anyone needs more time to decide let me know. I'm flexible to extend the deadline date if it is of assistance to anyone....

It is Important that you all write "Prowltalk" at the top of your order form.

TGF has informed me that this must be done, to get in on our buy.

If you do not, then you will not qualify for the 10% discount that TGF has offered us. This will identify you as being in the group that qualifies for the discount.

If you are uncomfortable putting our club name on your form, then you will pay more......and you should....

 Hardtop owners, is the hard top cradle worth it? Do you use it? Or should I invest in a hoist? - thanks -MKAT

Dreamcast18
02-08-2007, 07:03 PM
How much are they asking for? When Norb was around, it was included in the total cost + the cover.

I think if you have someone who can help you with the top, then the stand is good enough. If you're doing it by yourself, go with the hoist, don't hurt your back!

That's my 0.02

I'm filing out my order form for the hard top, I see they list HARD TOP PINS. What the hell are they? Do I need them?

halicat
02-09-2007, 04:25 PM
nope....

I understand that they are replacement pins for some of the generation 1 tops...

Your top as purchased comes with everything you need to install it on the car including a cover for when it is in storage. If you get the unpainted top, the rubber seal and rear window molding that goes on the outside in not installed on the top so as it can be sent right to the paint booth. these items are installed after the painting is completed. You will get full instructions for installation.

There's something I don't get . . . Who would even know if they were in on this buy? All they have to do is send in their form to Nani. I'm betting they have people thinking about buying one instead of committed serious buyers.

Thanks again Jim for setting this up. And, absolutely agree . . . Nani and TGF are great friends of Prowltalk. I'm going to up my order of Prowler books to three and send them one in appreciation for what they've done to further our cause. It'll look good sitting in their lobby.:bows

That would be a great thing to do for TGF Scott.. after all, they built the first concept Prowler for Plymouth.... They are on the cutting edge for making dreams into reality...

Anyone that doesn't write "Prowltalk" on the top of their form or be identified by myself will not be included in our group buy. Nani knew you were in before you sent her the form because I emailed her ahead of time. She also assured me that she would not include anyone without my permission...
