thanks DC,,,,,that was some fine reading.

Other than the fuel consumption,,,,,the Viper would be my choice,,,with the 'Stang second. jmo

Economics aside, I would like to have a Viper, the Mustang is more in my price range. I really have no desire to have a Vette.

I know we're mopar fans obviously here ... and YES - viper would be my first choice, but as a kid, how can you not have liked the vette? It was always america's entry into having a true sportscar that competed on the world scene. And for the money, I think it is still one hell of a lot of car. Before buying my Prowler, I had wanted a like a 67 convertible. Old vette's had a lot of style.

In my case, I was referring to the Vette in the article. I was not referring to the older ones. If we are talking older Vettes, I would be happy with anything 1966 or older.

myself....

I love the Viper, everything about it....

the Shelby is an awesome car and would be my second choice,,

In not a fan of the new Vette, they seemed to copy cat the Viper looks and certainly strayed from the Corvettes unique design...

My favorite Vette is the 63 split window coupe...

Jim- this is such a TRUE statement. Glad to see I'm not the only one that sees that. When they changed the headlights, I was like what? then the hood design, and I was like - DAMN - they're copying the Viper looks.

Two years ago, when I was looking at older Vettes, I traded with a friend of mine for the evening. He took my Prowler and I took his '61 Vette. I certainly would not have wanted to drive long distance in the Vette, but I did like the looks. Then we decided to remodel the house and I put that purchase on hold. I may start looking again this year.

I could never understand why they did that....

I would think a better plan would to become more distinctive.....that is what made the vette so desireable over the years

I guess I'm not a GM guy....

A friend had a black 66 or 67 mustang 2+2 GT fastback when I was younger... this car was a dream... I even prefered it over the Mopars of the time.. like the Charger... the Charger was sweet , but the stang was a dream...

i'm not positive what year the Mustang was...60 something.....lol

My son has a '70 Charger. I really like the 383 in that car, but it is a handful to drive on turns and it isn't the easiest car to stop.

I had a 68 Charger with a 318 ... it was pretty quick, but the darn thing would get floaty at higher speeds... a little scary....those drum brakes were not that great.

this was just a picture off the net I found.... Mikes original had more chrome than this one, rocker panels and such....
I haven't see the car since he went out to Alberta to work about 20 years ago... If he still owns it... it is mint... he kept it up very well....

I sure loved that car.....
