I missed out on SSS mufflers the first time around. Seriously, are they still available?

I will (AND HAVE) put my SSS muffler system up against ANY exhaust on our 3.5 prowlers and smile all the way. I know people that paid $1500 for theirs, and then heard mine and they got pissed.
Not sure if Jay still makes any, but they're worth EVERY PENNY

Hi Halicat.
That picture is a Monty Python character. I am a big fan. When I owned my 1953 Ford pick up, he was painted on the tailgate.

Ken,
i'm no expert, but have seen every show at least twice..your character is the John Cleese guy who stands in a stream and says "I like to eat rocks"....
had to be there...
Faulty Towers was great as well...

This character is called a "gumby" . They were live action or animated.
I saw Python live a long time ago in NYC. Still a favorite.

Ken - that is the exhaust Jan B. [catfish] has on his cat. Sounds/looks good. Originally sold by Mac Motorsports [defunct] in Scottsdale. Heard it is a pricey system?

confirmed... very pricey...
i checked it out over a year ago now and could not believe how much it was.... can't remember exactly, but it was out of the ball park..

I just clicked order and it said 925.55 ... yep - that's pricey. I forget how much Jay used to charge, 400 or 500, but you used your original tips with his.
Glad I got my SSS while he was still having them made.

Jays were $399
I wish i would have bought one..
I ended up with the Borla with the Carbon fiber tips... love the tips, but the borla muffler crapped out in a year so I ended up with the stock muffler that I drilled the baffels out...

you mean you can't use the borla tips on original exhaust?
By the way - when I said I went with a sound-off on exhaust - it was a borla that the owner afterwards got pissed they spent all that money and I think they traded out for an SSS.

I bought the muffler / back system from Norb at TGF for $400 plus $200 shipping. all i ended up using was the tips and the muffler, the pipes between did not fit... this may be why they were in the storage area in the back of the shop. the Carbon fiber tips fit on my stock tail pipes but I ended up having to make 2 pcs of pipe as adapters because the muffler was 5" to short....it was a hassel but if the muffler would have lasted I would have said it was worth it....
but today... my tips cost me $600...
who could be happy with that ?

well, love your tips and someday those might just be worth that (you can't get them anymore), but no I wouldn't be happy.
Why'd the muffler give out? cold winters and salt ??
halicat

The muffler has a perforated x tube inside it.... thats it....
the x tube must have broke a weld and started to buzz from vibration... it was loud and very embarrasing ..
the Kat was never driven in the snow and the only salt it has seen was in the air from the ocean....
others have had the exact same problem with the Borla muffler... workmanship was not the best, probably tack welded instead on a continous bead...
the drilled out stock muffler sounds real good...

Sorry, but Hurricane Wilma was the final and deathblow to some of my Manufacturing Partners in South Florida. ALL the CNC Machined Billet Aluminum Prowler Accessories and the "highly acclaimed" SSS Prowler Muffler were victims as well as the Prowler Community.
Since then, I have retired to DIXIELAND and loving it.
THANKS everyone's continued interest, Jay

Pumpkin...thank you!
It's too bad that Hurricane Wilma can't allow more to enjoy the same.
