Clear side lens for Trailer

Well, now that I have the clear lens on the Prowler, it only makes sense to have them on the trailer also. I'm guessing they would be easier to get and be a more common size than the prowler itself.

KKK - yes,,,,,that will be easier. If you can,,,remove the trailer side light and take it into a Carquest or NAPA store. Pick out an experienced counterman, and show them. They have books by GROTE and other manufactuers that make those side lights [red,clear,amber] which are more generic. They might have to order them,,,,but should only take a few days to get in.

Your clear side marker lights for the cat,,,,,,,,,,,Dale's model or did you get the ones advertised on eBay???

FYI, The trailer marker lights were made by Peterson special for DC. They have a twist socket for a 194 bulb. You will have to either swap out just the lens or splice the wires.

Reason I know this is, one of my marker lights was cracked and I called Jeff Hunter for a replacement. He looked it up and told me to sit down (saying also he was glad that he was sitting!). My cost was going to be over $50 plus shipping. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a complete light assembly for less than $3 and swapped the lens.

You can do a search on the internet for Peterson and browse through what they offer.

AC - paid the ridiculous price of $200 for Dales. At the time (about 4 months ago) - I didn't realize there were any alternatives available though, and thinking it was his last run, I paid the price.

KK - is it hard to swap the lens? I assume not ?? just a razor blade and silicone?

Krzy, Mine were not difficult. They just snap on and off but I used silicone to make sure it was sealed.

I have not found a clear direct replacement lens for the Peterson light though. You may need to use another manufacturer and replace the whole unit.
