Question - Once I install the lateral links will I need to re-align the car???

Nic, although you might be able to get away without an Alignment after replacing the links, I personally will be getting an Alignment. The Rear Alignment changes depending on how worn the eye-ends of the links are... so I want to be sure everything is up to specs after replacing the links with the fresh pieces.

I have a set of the Control Freak rear lateral links, and they are very good quality and workmanship. You should re-align the rears after installation.

I'm a little confused. I don't have the car handy to take a look. Are there 2 lateral links on each side of the car?Never paid any attention. So is the price (599.00) for 2 or 4? looks like there is one on each side of the shocks.

There are 2 on each side for a total of 4.

Jerry, Nevermind, I found what I was looking for. The reason I was asking this is my partner designs rack & pinion for a variety of older cars & also designed lateral links for the newer Mustangs. I asked him if he could do the Prowler links for us cheaper in price. He said he would check on what he could do them for. That's why I asked you questions. I'll give him the info & let you know. I just thought we could do them at a cheaper price. Whatever he makes is always 1st. class. If he can save us some money, you won't be disappointed.

That's good thinking, I was looking for a company that could rebuild the ones on our cars.
You know, Send them in in the winter months have them rebuilt then send them back. Think about that.

I talked to my partner about the possibilty of rebuilding the lateral links. We our going to look at my car this weekend & see what he comes up with. He thinks rebuilding them is a good possibilty. Jerry, I might take you up on your offer to send me a set of links. I could get them back to you in Deep Creek.....Mac

Gave the lateral links to my partner to see if they can be repaired. He said no go. Would cost too much to be done. He said he would design a new link, that would be better than the old one. It would be a one piece design. He said the cost would be in the $400 to $450 price range for all 4. If we could get 7 to 10 people to say they were interested, he would make it.

kind of, the bushings are going bad as understand it? Can't find the bushings anywhere?

If we could get a used link we just may be able to rebush it and save everyone a lot of $$$$$$$$$.

So if anyone has a used one they want to part with even if it's bad we would love to have it.

My guy said the inner part of the link (bushing) is not just up & down. The bushing swivels, & he thinks it can't be replaced using the old link. If you guys think you can fix the old link, let me know.

I'm looking for an old one to tear apart and look at. I have a friend in the business that said these were deigned to be re bushed so I thought I would look at it after it is tore down.

SO if I can get some old ones we will see. I don't want to tear apart a new one. And I think I have a bunch of bushing to re bush and sleeve's them. So I thought I would try it. ( No harm in trying )
