guys,

I'm looking for some ideas for lighting up the grill.... I would like something that will brighten when the engine is rev'd up...
I'm going to go with an orange since blue and red are not allowed here.

has anyone seen anything on the net that will do this.... I just want to do behind the grill, not under the car...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

jim

Jim,
Use neon set up and have second or third set of lights set to go on with different engine RPM.
Have to some how wire it into the tach.

Thanks Mort,

The extra tubes is a great idea so it doesn't go dark, just gets brighter. I will have to search for a kit or some type of easy way to do it. otherwise i'll have my tach messed up if I start to fool with it. I was thinking there may be a sound activated way to do this....

There's got to be on that does almost exactly what you are looking for. Don't know if you can contact George, but I'm sure he'd know. I think he had one, where it was connected at the battery terminals - and did get brighter the more RPMS it had. being that is right behind the grill - that might even be the ticket for you.

We need to get george involved more here anyhow - get his ass on here.

I assume it worked not really by the RPMS, but by amount of volts coming out from the alternator (same difference in result side though)

i'm just looking to illuminate behind the grill and under the hood... this seems like the best bang for the buck and should be getting it delivered next week.

I have no idea what the 2 million colors mean..... sounds cool....

I messed up...

I got the 3 million color set.......

The Attention Whore is even brighter..lol

1. 15 Colors to choose from that can be displayed individually. If you want it to glow blue one night and green the next its as simple as touching a button on the wireless remote, so you can select any of the 15 colors to cruise with individually.

2. Another feature is you can adjust this kit to 15 Color changing mode. In this mode it will change between the 15 colors every half second. So this way you can cruise with 15 colors changing on your ride.

3. The best feature of this kit is the 3 Million Color Fading Display. When in this feature, your kit will fade through over 3 million colors creating an amazing glow underneath your vehicle.

Can't wait to see it! Use a tripod to take the non-flash night shots if possible!

i don't have a tripod but will find something to set the camera on... i could take a short video but don't know how i would post it...

I ended up just putting it behind the grill.... I may get a seperate one for under the hood and interior...

Looks like you have a chrome grill. It looks good. I'd like to see it when it turns orange.

the lighting is about half as bright as the picture shows. this photo was taken without flash but under a streetlight. the amber is not very bright at all, the best effect this system gets is the fade in and out of the different colors. its looks neat when it is set on slow transition between fading colors.

I may keep it behind the grill...but its possible, i may relocate it to the interior and go with neon for the grill idea.

Can you leave it ONE color only as well (like on RED ?)

THAT must look bitching with your flame scheme, kinda like it's REALLY on fire !!

thanks guys,

the unit comes with a remote that changes programs, It can flash or keep it solid, one color or all.... it will fade between all colors, you can also change the speed of transition..its not very bright but thats what I was looking for anyways.
I haven't finished checking it out yet....more to report later...
